We all know theres 365 days in a year right well your wrong. theres 364 days in a year if theres 52 weeks in a year and 7 days in a week.
364days / 52 weeks = 7 days a week.

To have 365 days in a year we need to either divide 365 day in a year / 7days in a week = 52.14 weeks in a year and divide that by 7 should give you 7.44 days in a week.

so we have 7.44 days in week.

That is absolute rubbish. If you divide 365 by 7 to get 52.14 weeks there are obviously 7 days in a week, not 7.44!

ps: Worst thread of the day award (unless that Megzy posts or whatever her name is)
ok theres 7 days in a week you need to divide 7 by 365 to see how many 7 fit into 365,

ok try dividing 365 by 7 and 7 again
then do the same with 364.

ok lets make it easy lets say you pay £150 a week
£150 x 52 = £7800 a year
now £7800 / 365 = 21.36986
21.36986 x 7 = 149.58 a week

now if we £ 7800 / 365.25 = 21.355 per day
then £21.355 x 7 = 149.48.

ok how many days in a year how many days in a week look at my post get a calculator out and start doing the math its either 364 days in a year or 365 days but having decimal points for weeks and days.

It's pretty obvious that the approximation comes in saying that there are 52 weeks in a year. There are definitely 365.24 days in year, there are definitely 7 days in a week, so we can conclude that - since 65.242199 / 7 = 52.177457 - there are ever so slightly over 52 weeks in a year, which doesn't throw anything out of whack whatsoever.

but if you use that figure for a calculation with other figures it dosent work.
try to use your method using the figures 7800 per year, the answer is £150 per week but your calculations leaves it under.

a) That is just a mad scientist who is trying to create a system that makes more sense to him. We don't use it!
b) Did you even read the first 2 sections that point out what has been said over and over?
But his system works and is the same as what i posted eitehr have 364 days in a year, or decimal points for weeks and days.

so how do you get a £150 per week and £7800 a year as a clean figure with out using what i suggested?

A day is 24 hours, a week is 7 days, on average the number of weeks in a year has decimal places, but that is what leap years help get around.

Also if we had it as you said where it had decimal places, then gradualy as the year passed midnight would no longer be the middle of the night....
so how do you calculate £7800 a year and have £150 per week and then calculate per day other than using £7800 /52/7?

The fact remains that there are NOT only 52 weeks in the year, it's a little more than 52 - so your figures aren't going to work as the 365.25 figure is taking into account EVERY single day, your calculations are based on perfect 52 week years which don't exist!

There are 52.14 (rounded) weeks in a year. FACT.
There are 365.25 (rounded) days in a year. FACT.

so you cant calculate a weekly number then * it by 52 to get the yearly figure, then using the overall days in the year to calculate one day worth of the yearly figure.

What?!

How old are you? Seriously?

ok this is the problem iam meant to be getting £150 per week but iam getting £149.50 per week, my yearly is £7800 but they calculate it to days then times it by 7 which gives me the figure of £149.50. So how do i get back my 50P

Exactly. If you use days as your figure for calculating your income, i.e. divide your income into how much you get per day, you have to take into consideration that there are more than 52 weeks in a year!!!!!

PLEASE TELL ME YOU UNDERSTAND THIS!!!!
i understand that,

£25 a year? Big deal. . .get over it. I suggest if you walk around looking at the floor where ever you go you will find 50p per week, hence recouping the loss.

well thats 2 hours work not paid for

freefall i understand it, but its relating it to a financial calculation, iam trying to explain you cant do the following £650 per month * 12= 7800 / 365 then * 7 = £149.50p. if your going to do it that way then you must the daily figure by 7.44 to give me £150per week. But they are saying no there isnt .4 of a day in week.
I hope you see where iam coming from.

But do you get 7800 in your bank at the end of the year? Or are you saying that you are getting paid £650 a month? If it's the latter, then you're fine - no one works out their salary per day.

it was meant to be paid monthly £650 but they said they would pay me weekly, so i thought ok its £150 a week, but the way they calculate it, £650 month x 12 months = £7800 then they divide that by 365 days which gives me a daily rate then * that by 7 which gives me a weekly rate and that what goes in the bank.

so you're getting paid £7800 a year... which is what's on your contract...

what's the problem other than your bad maths?
so how can i get £7800 in a year if they are putting in £149.50 per week?
