With a background in software development i appreciate the work that has gone into this alpha release. It wasnt a small task converting the mod and also rewriting entire areas to work differently adopting the new architecture.
But not only that some areas of the game have been totally reworked! Blood chemistry, disease and sickness, food, item damage and degradation.
Sections of the map have been totally reworked with extra buildings and new geography! Neil how many new buildings and locations did you see when we went exploring?
Plus we are forgetting the improvements in graphics especially textures.
Its an alpha! Not a beta, not an early release or even a release...
If you have ever written a computer program or typed in a listing or created 3d graphics then you will understand the hours of work that have been put into this
Like others have said it is almost recapturing those early first days of the mod, some are using their time to explore the seedier side of banditry and griefing and others are busy exploring searching out the new additiins to standalone.
Yesterday we found whole areas which used to be fields now crisscrossed with roads and what look like outlines for buildings. So there will still be some surprises in store and i think some new towns will be appearing. I also wondered if any underground complexes had been added similar to Namaslk / Taviana....
Anyway happy christmas folks have a tin of beans on me.
