Dayz Standalone - BETA

Remember boys if this ever makes it out of "early access" we can get a refund, let's hope for that outcome, BI will obviously keep it in "early access" to stop this from happening however.

Is that a thing? Please say so I would love to get my money back from conan exiles.

Would be interesting to know how many people are actually working on this still. I know that Bluehole (PUBG) has roughly 150 people and that game still needs a lot of work, but it is newer.

this would actually be interesting to see. why because the millions who brought this shambles could refund it all.how amazing would that be ! cant see it happening some steam whatever or loop whole would be used.

Why is this compared to pubg? I thought that was basically kotk? Not a persistant survival game?

Ill be giving it a look. Im not petty enough to spite my own face by harping Same difference re to the past.

FYI - I'm not trying to create false hope or re-engage the hype train haha. Just think any Dayz Vanilla fan's should honestly keep an open mind about the significance of Dayz going into BETA.

I do think they're aiming for a console release of this game, which is why they're still plugging away. They used us and will use the Dayz hype of Christmas past to get sales on console.

I agree with all the comments.... This game was the worse £20 I spent and why I rarely buy into Alpha or EA...

However, I just wonder if they'll be the first of the original EA games to pull it back post EA/Alpha... do you know what I mean?

I would never buy this game... But since as I have it already I'm willing to give it a shot between PUBG. The fact they've not shut the studio down and run with our money could signal they might pull something out of the bag!

Worth keeping an eye on in my opinion.

Base building, yes please! Just like that one Arma 2 mod, Exile or Epoch was it?

^ What about 0.60 onwards? I felt that was great, performance wise mainly.

Yeah Epoch a2, exile a3 all absolutely brilliant.... But they were still made on an engine quite unsuitable for this type of game play. I just wonder if by them designing a new engine specifically for this type of game if they'll end up fulfilling their obligation to complete the game.... As I said, surely you can appreciate this is uncharted waters, who's to say an EA/Alpha cash whore makes good on their promises!

I don't know why thegoon thinks you won't get it for free if you bought the standalone? Not read that info anywhere.

Edit: won't let me insert thegoon's quote for some reason?

Yeah of course you'll get it for free if you've already bought the standalone... But my impression for the op was that he was asking whats the difference between "Dayz" and "Dayz Standalone"... Think he thought the a2 steam version of Dayz was the same as Standalone.

How would that actually work then?

Is that a thing? Please say so I would love to get my money back from conan exiles.

Same with Conan, bought, played 8/9 hours...Steam still refunded me. Clan mates convinced me to try again, it was still dire. Couldn't get a refund the second time.

First year of the Arma 2 mod was one of my Favourite gaming experiences, think about 15 of us brought this when it was "released" and I've little doubt most would get refunds if possible. For me though considering I once brought a train ticket to Blackpool this is by far not the worst £30 I've ever spent, so I'll leave it in my library and maybe one day it'll surprise me.

Is it ? - care to elaborate then as I would love to get my money back on dayz standalone.

Message them directly about wanting your money back be kind and reasonable with them and explain to them that you bought the game within a window where they were calming it would be fully released by X date, X date has been and gone and yet you don't have the product that you were promised by X date. They will do one of two things.

Give you a refund OR claim due to the nature of production they can't give you one because X Y & Z . However, the ombudsman doesn't agree with X Y or Z as you don't have the product advertised for X date. And the game devs well quite simply they know it. Inform them of the fact that given the state of affairs and their refusal to provide a refund that you will be heading to the ombudsman and that you wish they had left you an easier solution for both party and ask them to reconsider. In most cases they will roll over here knowing it's not worth the time, effort or money in trying to fight a fight they can't win. If they don't give you a refund at this stage then do approach the ombudsman and it will be sorted through that line.

Here is my experience of this when getting a refund from StarCitizen. So that you know im not having you on. Below only shows about 60% of the refund as they did it on a per order basis.

You spent how much on a game? Think you need help dude.
And nope, these idiots are not getting another penny of money or another minute of my time after charging me £20 for the Dayz SA malware

Just throwing it out there.... What if they made good on what they originally promised.... End of the day regardless of the state we all knew what EA was, we nagged for it, we begged for it.... They said its very very early in the build... perhaps we should have listened.

If they made good on what they promised us gullible muppets that passed them 20 of our hard earned sheets should be playing the final product by now and getting fleeced for DLC and microtransactions. The problem is we are years down the line from SA and still stuck with a 'very early build'.

The engine is cack, the controls are cack, gameplay is cack, the community is cack and the mechanics are cack.
If it looks like a turd and smells like a turd it probably isn't a snickers bar.
