I was really looking forward to this until I became heavily invested with DayZ: Origins....now I feel like if this doesn't have many if not all of the of the good features from Origins it'll feel like going backwards, as opposed to forwards.

Anyone else feeling like this or is it just me? Also pretty sick of Chernarus, unless it get's a pretty radical overhaul.

a lot of the features in origins and such are just th tip of the ice berg and even better stuff will come ;)

crafting and such will be added soon hopefully.
 
Agree with Dave on this regards the delay in releasing this game. That Rocket bloke thinks he's so special, it's all been about him instead of the fans that put him up there in the first place.

I half want the game to flop because of that ass's behaviour over this.

Agreed, the success of DayZ went to his head. I can see the standalone being a bit of a flop tbh, probably get a load of hype for the first month and then it will die off again just like the mod.

Lol, what? Can't see he has done much wrong. Considering how Dayz gained momentum he could have released a paid for version as soon as he could to get as much money as possible before the hype died down. He chose not to do that, decided to take the risk of delaying it until it met their own imposed standards. Also the attention on him was mostly the media, because of the fairy tale story of a guy and his mod going viral. He decided to capitalise on it a bit because, hey, they don't have a marketing budget like EA.
 
You speak as though he's just a gamer with a talent for coding. He worked for BI, he made a mod just like many do. He was in no way able to make a standalone because its BI's property. Property that already existed in the form of the mod. BI decided or agreed to develop the standalone and old smacked arse Rocket obviously demanded to oversee the project, thus delaying it whilst the pretentious ****** went off to Nepal walking hills.

there is a whole dev team . do people actually think it just stops cause rocket is up everest :D quite funny.

they will of been working none stop while hes been gone getting it ready for his return so he can announce standalone alpha. e3 is june 11th i think and that's when youll probably know.

Yeah, that's my point. To me, it seems like he won't allow it to be released unless he's there to take all the limelight.

Someone said on here (the deleted thread maybe?) that he's put a stop to DAYZ mod being released on ArmA3, now I don't know if that's true or not.

Also, I used to read the official forums too, and he came across as described on there too. It's only my opinion of the bloke though, I could well be a million miles off, and if I am I'd gladly hold my hand up while eating humble beans.
 
I do see where you're coming from, and I do think that it will come out after he has come back from his trip too ;)
 
why would he allow the arma 3 mod version out at same time as selling standalone. it makes no business sense to do it.
