DC Vault

Well, if you enjoyed this morning's eclipse come back here about the same time tomorrow !

With favourable conditions there should be another eclipse when OcUK overtake not one, but two teams to get back to 10th spot in the Vault :D

You can wear your solar eclipse glasses if you want but they aren't necessary

9th is doable, I going to stick on numberfields until we get to around the 9000 pt mark. Currently though my OGR rig is down, the PCIe PSU cable is burnt out and my board doesn't have the facility to utilise the igpu in my cpu, so I'm going to need either a new PSU or a non external powered gpu.

9th is very doable, just 1,500 points at the moment and the Russians will also be helping out when Stephen plugs his USB hard drive in again !

Burnt out cable doesn't sound good, at least it was only a cable and not the PSU or card that died. Not sure how you can have an igpu that doesn't work if you remove the unused GPU ?

Don't take too long fixing it, I moved OGR to let me use the 16GB of memory for Atlas but let the SAT wu's run out 2 at a time rather than abort them. Now it's just OGR and POEM on the gpu so I'll be overtaking you anytime soon

Have a few more SAT spots to hit and will also go back and get some more Primaboinca points, but there are a load of OGR spots/points just waiting to be collected. Distracted by Atlas and Universe (which has pretty planets to collect :)) but hopefully they will be points in the bag when they get added to the Vault.

The board is a ROG gene, I was looking for a DVI output which it hasn't got, but looking again it has got an HDMI output but non of my monitors have a HDMI inputs (I know, get with the times grandad), but I'll get it going soon enough.

Thanks for the link Andy, I'll get one next time I order something, however I've sorted it now. I had this problem with another card, so with my new card I used a molex to PCIe adapter to get round it, and completely forgot when I took the card out to clean the dust off it, I ended up putting the melted plugs back on it, didn't noticed anything wrong until I put it under load with GIMPs and it kept crashing :o It was only when I took the PSU out I saw the molex to pcie connection. Back on OGR now and we should grab a couple of spots in GIMPs soon, but also lose one as a guy is coming up behind fast.

I'd be more inclined to blame Windows 10 given that it's beta.

And yes, in case you didn't notice, I've joined you in ATLAS. Not going to get near your production with a couple of 2010-era Xeons (at most things a pair will hold their own against a single current-gen i7, but ATLAS isn't one of them).

well it was running fine on win10 until i updated boinc , still project is down atm so no worries lol

yer i did see you had started :) think Atlas is more of a memory game then cpu, give each wu 4 gig , need to get run time and cpu time as close together as you can
