been watching DC2 market for months n months now, thats no doubt overpriced, especially being a UK spec.
as for tyres, many people find the RS2 suit well on the teg n serve a suitable alternative.

It really is. Less so on JDM's.
My EK9 is the same though, a little mechanical sympathy helps ie. slowing the gear change down

Maybe its since the oilman brain washing shifting people away from MTF.
I read a thread just yesterday where someone didnt use MTF has it looked to thin. Used Amsoil and then was loving it cos the crunches went and he had MTF in before..... silly really as the reason one would change oil is due to the old stuff going old lol. New MTF would probably have fixed any issues.
This is HONDA MTF for a MANUAL TRANMISSION that needs a FLUID change. The mind boggles. Honda know engines and gearboxs but people think theres justification to move from the OEM fluid based on its appearance.

even more for RX. thats early DC5 territory hmm hardly hear of it on itr-dc2, only really seems the high mileage abused examples have it
Buying a DC2 isn't like buying a BMW though, they've all been ragged (some worse than others admittedly), that's what they were built for.
Crunchy gearbox/syncro issues aren't the end of the world, even recent Civic EP3's suffer from it.

had mine about a month now, getting between 29-33 mpg from it, but the fuel tank is tiny, 'E' light shows, yet it still only lets me put 39 litres in. this is the biggest shock coming from a 60 litre tank at 40mpg
currently has T1R's on it, and a lot of tread left on them, when I come to replace them, I'll just check itr-dc2 when I need to replace them to see what to get at the time

Toyo T1-R is a poor choice of tyre for the DC2 bledd, the good thing is you'll notice a big difference when you replace them with an RE010 or something.
I can't wait til my Dunlop SP 9000's have worn out (had RE010 previously but they were really hard to get hold of at one point).

(had RE010 previously but they were really hard to get hold of at one point).Regarding the oil and gearbox, I'm not an expert but Ichishima-san of Spoon Sports is and he clearly said in one of the VTEC club videos that there is no point in using expensive oil "it isn't Whiskey, don't waste your money". He also strongly recommended changing the gear oil at the same time as the engine oil, every time.

Tim, yeah, I have read that they're not the best on that forum, but can't justify replacing them for this reason alone. as you say, hopefully the difference will be another boost

Admittedly I don't use it any more, same as Tim, I just use 10-40 Castrol summit or other. Tried Silkolene once and it wasn't the miracle cure a lot of people rave on about.
My mind boggles when people talk about putting 75/90 gear oil in the 'box, it's bizarre. Landrover MTF
shame they only do it by the gallon now.

Get Honda to change the box oil.
£37 for the 2 litres or so. Mine dropped to £30 when they stuck 1.5 litres in the Insight as I suggested even though the book states 2.0.
Its just not worth getting a container and getting the correct amount at £8 a litre then going home and doing in on your drive for that cost.

Sorry that was intended as a general guideline I know if you do serious work thats not always an option. How much is LR stuff nowadays.
