DDR5 is here, first kits on sale in July

So what's the latest? I've noticed some stock started appearing, although OC prices are still outrageous.

What are the best options for the money at the moment? Corsair Dominator Platinum? G.Skill Trident?

Gskill without question
Why Gskill?
All memory is just Hynix and Samsung chips purchased then brand marketing added with titles like 'Dominator' 'Hyper' 'Royal' 'Ripped' and heatspreaders which may include flashy lights or fake diamonds.
Go for the cheapest that has the best rated timings and read review of what people have managed with theirs.

I guess the main thing would be the company returns policy and customer service but this shouldn't matter if you go through a reseller and need to return it
Failing that you would be going with X company that has £600 RAM to show off the epeen

If I'm not interested in overclocking the CPU, which one of those is more worth it: Corsair Vengeance 5600Mhz, G.Skill Trident Z5 5600Mhz or G.Skill Trident Z5 6000Mhz? These are what's available right now, price is about the same.

It's not just Samsung and hynix though. You also have micron. You tend to get more oc headroom and performance from the likes of the gskill Samsung products compared to corsair micron ram. It can be marginal but my preference is the likes of gskill over the years.

Just pulled the trigger on 2 x G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 32GB (2x 16GB) 5600MHz (64GB total), last 2 kits. I wanted Ripjaws, it's a bit cheaper and I don't need that RGB ѕhit, but there was only 1 kit for each color. Lame.

Also just paid the eye watering £940 for the damn ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme. 3 years ago I bought this same series motherboard for 3 times less and at the time it was one of the most expensive motherboards...

Hot off the press, landed today G.Skill 32GB 6400 C32 not bad for £472.41

They are SK Hynix IC's

So after an interesting start with an SPD issue, which I have now fixed.

Apex works fine out the box with XMP with these, the Extreme board seems to throw errors but that's a 4 DIMM board as id never expect this to run the same.

Current doing some testing on the Extreme board at 6200 32-39-39-28 1T which seems to be motoring along at the moment. They do seem a bit easier than the Samsung IC to work with but that could be for a number of reasons.

I'm expecting 6933+ from these on the Apex.

CPU settings as above, once I am finished with Secondary and Tertiary times it should be knocking on the door or 48-50ns

I forgot the AIDA64 screen grab:

One the other board, its a piece of cake to go higher

Smol update:

30-37-36-28 1T works but needs extra voltage to stablize it, which is not worth the effort on a daily system.

Just got another set of Hynix for the Apex, first stop 6666

The Extreme seems to have settled in nicely at 6200 1T with the Hynix kits, I was expecting more but I think its pushing luck a little on a 2DPC board.
