De-lidded 3770k!!

I considered delidding my Xeon E3-1230 V2 but it seems the stock TIM isn't all that bad. At least the difference between core temp is minimal across the chip. I'm looking forward to putting it under water and doing a comparison :)

I would definitely use it between die and IHS. Certainly made a difference for me!

That's a nice drop in temps ya got there, I'm cooling the die directly but I just used some as5, think ill give that'd liquid pro a go, maybe it will gimme enough play to get 4.6 stable, takes 1.4v on this CPU which really kicks out some heat at that voltage.

whats liquid pro like to clean off though?have you ever tried?

Not bad at all really. When I removed it after the first time to lap the IHS/Heatsink the IHS just literally fell off the cpu while I was holding it. It wiped off very easily.

Might be different after a long period of time though, but was fine after a week of hard usage.

If you're going to use it, put some on both the die and the heatsink. That seems to work best.
