Dead Rising

I'm actually having a hard time seeing what all the fuss is about. Ive just finished the first case, didnt save anyone more of a run through learning the map.

The controls are the worst Ive seen on the 360 yet, surprisingly no tearing and good gfx but the controls are really putting me off. Honestly I never thought I'd say this but i wouldve prefered auto aim of TRL and a follow cam.

I will try case 2 tommorow but probably end up putting this on the bay.

Took this back again today :D

Brought it thinking I didnt give it much of a chance the first time

But its still so boring after about 20 minutes, not worth 50 quid imo, so had to take it back for a second time

O well

I thoughly agree on the controls, they're quite clumsy but you get used to it fast. As for the game, I had a major time adjusting to it, but given that I've been waiting for this title all year I gave it a chance.

The more I progressed through the game, the more I got used to its mechanics. Defending myself with jump kicks was all too much fun, and I really love the game now. Moreso then TDU until it's server issues are sorted out.

Finished DR earlier today but got the poor ending due to me not doing all cases, so I've now restarted with my last level which was 20. It's much more fun now :)

Great i killed the butcher guy and am about to go back for next case file at 10 and time is up as soon as i finish! so i cant complete final case file

i have to say i never had an issue with the controls, they felt natural

ive completed overtime mode and tbh my love of the game is waining, its going back to the rental company after 3 days of (solid) enjoyable gaming

i wouldnt recommend this for anything more than £30 retail

but i do think it was a fantastic game and i will be renting it again in the future

Ive done the first case, so you can progress the game and not finish one?

I have found myself already bored of whacking zombies, I find myself jumping about to stop them grabbing me. I stopped killing them when it seemed you couldn't clear an area of them?

The most frustating for me on the control front, is when you line up a shot or position to take a piccie. You pull the trigger and it isnt even looking in the direction you was looking. WTF is that all about.

Change the camera mode in the options to something like camera view, rather than player direction.

Stick with it Danny, i didnt like it to begin with but i really enjoy it now and the Cut Scenes are very comical, its a lot better once your character is at least level 12 or something.

And to Steedie! Rent it!

You can progress through the game by ignoring the cases, but at the end of the 72hrs when the chopper picks you up, you won't unravel much of the storyline. Some cases like the ones involving Brad are key cases which you need to succeed in.

Zombie bashing in the demo did get repetitive for me too tbh. It's a bit different here, theres lots of cool items around the place that are very amusing. Bikes, cars, dishes etc. Finding new ways to do stupid things with the zombies is a laugh I now find.

My first time trying to use a gun was a nightmare. Ended up taking a camera shot of a zombie's mug as he approached my face :(

I love this game , currently on my 2nd play through. Going for Zombie Genocide to get the real mega buster. Gotta kill 53,594 zombies , just under half way there with 25,793 killed :).

So you have to kill that many in one game , not cumalative?

I'd love to mate, but theres not a place that does 360 games near me at all :(

Yeah i will give it another go later, my problem is i've never been a big fan of playing games through over and over. Reloading and playing the same easy bits again is just a drag. When I read that their was different ways to play the game through I was thinking more jedi academy or kotor than reloading from the start and replaying to get scoops.

I guess I will play it through once see how I go. Likely it will get sidelined once Lego Sw gets here.

This really isn't a gun game, nor is it a wack a zombie game tbh.

It is a mini objective game the zombies are there only really to slow you down. I more or less ignore them unless they are directly in my way.

I just killed krusty the clown and took that security guard to the toilet. I missed what he said but ended up with one block of health left. So I saved. I now have to leg it up to the Jap folks who decided to leave their book shop. Grab an apple, grab the Jap book, kill all the zombies attacking them and get them to follow me without dieing. Its a bit of a mission.

I may restart the game again. As I now relaise I should fight the clown but not get the security guard until after getting the Jap guys, arming them and telling them to stay at the back of the book shop.

anyone got tips on killing the phsycos in the jeep when ** in the park area .

Get a machine gun and run over to dense trees or the picnic area and try and get them snagged then shoot the gunner. Once he's dead get the big machine gun he was shooting to kill the other 2 guys.

It helps to be at least level 10.

I've just finished with the 'true ending'. My god what a game and I won't spoil it but the last fight is HARD! My guys level 39 and it took me 6 goes; hence to say the controller nearly went flying out the window.

Looking forward to to starting again and doing some of the collection achivements, clothes, food, PP stickers. Then there's the megaman achivement to go for, then 10 pyschos, 50 survivors etc. Quite a bit of fun to be had yet :) And still excited about playing.

Kronologic, I wouldn't worry about losing a few survivors if this is one of your first time's through. Unless you do a prefect run you'll struggle to rescue 50 for the Saints achievement and you'll have plenty of others to save to get the 20. Just remember where they were etc and get a picture of them for your notebook.

As long as you've opened the short-cut that is, I'd be tempted to restart if the security guard didn't make it to the toilet to open it up for you.
