Dead Rising

You can restart if you need. Adams chainsaws will make the game much more easier, but it's kinda like running through the game on god mode. I just save my chainsaws as a last second desperation weap.

Fighting hand to hand is more fun :p

Excellent tip for this game is to get a survivor and give them a submachine gun, there are times in the game when this is really handy, you just tell them to stand somewhere and they draw the zombies but have the firepower to defend themselves and dont run out of ammo. only downer is their kills dont go on your total

Haven't tried this one yet! I gave one a shotgun and regretted it dearly though :D He kept shooting me in the back hehe

I think it works out to £34.99 on shopto.net if you make a new account, and they should have it with you for tomorrow. let me know what you think of it. I'm sure you will love it if you put some time into it in the right frame of mind :D

Got mine today from shopto.net... had a moment of weakness and got Saints Row with it :) I got £3 off as it was my first order, so effectively Dead Rising cost me £33... bargain!

gotta play it yet though, very busy so might not be for a while, but the excitment is building :)

Never heard of shopto until you mentioned it, so thanks for that! Cheaper than most other places (apart from shop-asia, but not interested in that).

NEVER press save and quit. Save and go back to the game and turn off the console, otherwise it saves your stats but resets your position in the game.

That's one thing this game needs, is a proper quit button.

This is fair enough (don;t make sense why this is the case, but fair enough). What happens if you die? I died and had the option to Load Game or Save and Quit. I chose to save and quit and went back to the title... then upon satarting I had to start the the damn beginning again? Whats that about?

If you save at the end (i.e. cos you dont have a save game already to go back to) then your PP and level are saved and in your next game you start from there

basically you can muck about for your first few goes getting used to it and leveling up then start playing for real in a new game

Hmm I dont understand that? Just know I started again (cos I had too) and then saved in the bogs, and continued the game, then went back to dashboard and back into the game. Then I had the Continue game option, and I used that and continued from my previous place, like I expected it too.

What happens now if I die... do I select save and quit, and upon reloading the game will I get the continue game option again? Or will I have to start from scratch again?

If that is the case thats really poor... cos say Im playing the game for hours, and get really far into the game. Then I have to start from the begining again? Fair enough my levels etc will be there, but id have to collect and do everything again, that cant be right... can it?

Any help on how this saving guff goes will be appreciated!

When you die you've got two options.
1. To load your last saved game.
2. To save your current char status and quit. What this means is that your character's stats (level, skills) will be saved upto when he died and then the entire game will restart - except Frank will be at the level at which you saved and quit.

So if you should die, then you've got two options. You can reload and continue playing from where you last saved, or you can restart the entire game again whilst retaining your chars level. It's a very nice system

Is this game for real? I'm at level 6 and getting a side mission to rescue a few people. Thought id give on ago, and it was in the north plaza where it would appear every zombie in the game is at. I get my ARSED whooped... and the fact the dude has a dodgy leg aswell, that would be physically impossible to rescue him?

Am I the only one that finds this game VERY difficult? I'm getting really hard missions on level 6. Ive given up with it, otherwise I can see a pad flying somewhere I don't want it too!

Whats the best way to get through the game without screwing?

A message we keep banging on about in this thread. This game is not designed to be 100% completed at such a low level. Its hard to do everything even at level 50. Play the game. If the survivors die it doesn't matter so much. Try again at a higher level next time.

lol I was at the same stage if you see my posts at the start of this thread. However it's miles easier the more you play and adapt to the controls. Focus on getting lots of PP and using Frank's combat moves to use when you suddenly find yourself without weapons. Suffice to say that the game gets easier as you level up, not to mention stupidly fun.

whats the best way to PP up though... as im finding it hard at the early stages to rescue survivors... so just going round killing the zombies takes ages to PP up doesnt it?

Firstly take pics of any survivors you encounter as well as pyscho's. Secondly if you can't escort a survivor to the security room, then don't. As Sid said you can't do everything in this game in one sitting, thats the beauty of it. For PP try at least getting to survivors and making them join you, this alone will get you some good PP, and if they die then they die but at least you got the PP for them joining you.

There's one good way to get PP although it's not a tried and tested method by me so I'm just thinking off the top of my head here. Goto the Al'Fresco mall and find the gym. In this gym theres a locker where you can save your progress. Also in this gym are two PP heavy toys:

1. Destroy all the punchbags for PP
2. Use all the treadmills for PP.

Once you've done the above stuffs, save your game and quickly exit the gym. The gym is located right nexto ajoining Food Court, so goto the court and then return back to the gym again and those 2 items above should have respawned :)

Give it a shot anyway, but its better to play and learn the game because theres a lot to do. I'm on my 7th run through the game and still have a lot left.

just got this game, was wondering:

1.) what happens if the survivors die, should I reload and try again.

2.) went outside and it was dark and i couldn't see a thing, anyway to make it 'brighter' ??

Dunno if anyone is interested, but here's a list of the Dead Rising songs..

"Justified" - Drea
"Blame it on the Cold One" - Carlton Moody
"Heaven's Creepin' In" - Supernova Syndicate
"Slave" - The Evolutionaries
"Bored Again" - Lockjaw
"Fly Routine" - Hostile Groove
"On A Mission" - Hostile Groove
"Gone Guru" - Lifeseeker

Found this list while looking for the song Gone Guru - Lifeseeker which is the song while fighting the convicts. :D

I converted that video and plonked it on my Vision:M mp3/video player. Great track :)

Love it when I head outside on DR and hear that song. Know it's time to go steal the convicts jeep again :D

I finally picked this up the other day after loving the demo.

The save system was annoying to start with but once you get used to having to save, its fine.

At about level 23 atm using adam's chainsaw a lot of the time with 2 books giving 6x endurance.

Just playing through the case files and save the odd survivor here and there.

I'm currently going for the 24hrs indoor & outdoor achievement as well as the Gourmet one (eat every time of food) and I think I may have bitten off more then I can chew (eeek) with the latter.

This game has the best most enjoyable achievements list to date! :D
