Dead Space 2 .

I will say I wish I'd started on Zealot for my first run just for a challenge as normal difficulty was far too easy. I never once struggled for ammo and certainly didn't struggle for money. By the time I got to chapter 14 I easily had over 150k in credits sat there doing nothing.

It did get more difficult nearer the end but I never struggled or worried I was going to run out of ammo so the only tension was caused by things dropping from the ceiling onto me.

Considering getting this on PS3 for £30, but am just not sure if all current PS3 versions have Etraction included, or if there is both a limited and normal edition, the normal not having Extraction?

You are forgetting when you started your zealot run you also had upgraded weapons. Imagine how much ammo you would burn through with zero nodes and only a chance for maybe 1 and a half weapons upgraded by the end. Not to mention a lot less stasis.

I wouldn't fancy zealot as a first game run tbh. I could do the next level down but not Zealot.

Yeah but normal was too easy, Zealot would have given a proper challenge at least! Or was there a hard difficulty between normal and zealot? I forget. Maybe hard rather than Zealot but normal was just no challenge and didn't generate the tension of running around with limited supplies.

Really enjoyed this game from start to finish, it was a faster pace and felt more action than survival horror compared to the first but still thought it was brilliant, starting zealot mode then think I'll focus on Killzone 3 and Assassins Creed Brotherhood for a bit before comeing back and attempting Hardcore mode.

I've been working my way through Dead Space 1 again after completing DS2. Definitely worth playing again and finally doing it on impossible!

Can anyone confirm if hardcore mode is actually a higher difficulty level than zealot? Or is it basically the same again except for only 3 saves?

I'm quite enjoying my second run through of this. The only weapons i'm really using are the seeker and the ripper. Fully powered up they own everything:D

Its a good length IMO. Doesn't outstay its welcome. If it went on much longer I think it would become very apparent just how 'samey' the gameplay is. I'm halfway through and I can already spot the rooms where I'm going to get jumped a mile off.

As a comparison, I played through Doom 3 about 6 months ago for a bit of nostalgia and I was just so utterly sick to death of it by the end. It seemed to have c15 hours of gameplay and by the end it was just a tedious grind. Dead Space on the other hand gets in, scares the bejesus out of you, then gets out.
