Dead Space Is Awesome!!

I have this game on PS3. Is it worth trading it in and getting it on pc as ive seen it pretty cheap somewhere. Are the graphics and sound any better? etc

Guys, I have a problem with starting this game second time - after credits ended it said impossible mode has been released and 6 level suit and other stuff... OK. So I saved the game and started a new one, impossible mode and do not have all my weapons and new suit...:( all clear...
How do you get all the stuff moved from the end of the game plus all the bonus stuff?

Would be great if it actually worked with an ATI card. I don't like a choice between horrible lag vs. terrible screen tearing. Other than that disaster, it looks like a great game I will never be able to play again.

I found that with Vsync enabled ingame, the mouse movement became slower and just crappy feeling. Turn it off and you get the proper feel back again but horrible screen tearing when walking past flashing lights. The answer??? Turn off vsync ingame, force Vsync in nvidia control panel or the ATI control panel and voila, proper mouse feel and no tearing.

The scariest thing about Fear was how repetitive and boring it was.

And comments like these get me. What do you expect with a shooter game? Bunjee jumping, motor racing and virtual sex? It would be classed as trying to be something it isnt then i suppose wouldn't it?? Every shooter game i've played as been repetitive. Run, jump, shoot, reload repeat. I thought FEAR had a nice variety of enemies and some of the best and most realistic weapons i've ever seen in a fps.

Back on topic, i've started to play Deadspace again. The first time round i got to the first boss then got sidelined with other games and so deadspace was put on the back burner. After finishing FEAR 2 the other day, i'm in the mood for another horror game so i started deadspace from the start again yesterday afternoon.

You need to load your saved game to continue with the level 6 suit, which wont be available until you get to a store. You cannot use it on impossible until you complete impossible normally.

Seen a Youtube video of PS3 Deadspace and it looked better than the PC version. Youtube link switches to full game view around 3:30, and corridor view at 3:39 looked worse on the PC (if the same corridor as I remember, as no flickering screens).

this is probably the only game ive actually walked slowly, checked every corner of the room twice and peek round doors because i know im going to jump.

even after seeing a lot of the monsters, the same ones still make me jump, ive just chapter 11 and them ones in chapter 10 that run like lightning put the s***s up me!

They're not playing it, they're watching... and why are they moronic for letting them watch it? Its a game ffs. ITS NOT REAL

At worst they will have nightmares. Which build character.

Oh right, so that makes it ok then?

Are you for real or what. Are you serious? Real or not, it's the principal behind it all. It's gory, bloody, violent, scary and realistic, but it don't matter. It's not real

What type of character will it build exactly? Someone who is not scared of the dark and monsters? Someone who likes to see blood and decapitation at the age of 10??

Why would you want to give your kid nightmares?? Please answer that question, i beg you!

You're a bigger moron than the idiot on youtube!

It's 18 rated for a reason. It's not suitable for minors

Yes. The difference is, their basis of understanding for what is actually going on is going to be very limited. Knee jerk shock reactions at things jumping out is all that it is going to do to them. Or are you against shouting "boo" at your kids from round a corner when playing with them? :/

Separate imagination from reality. Not difficult really. Children make up scarier things in their heads.... The principle behind it is not as significant when fantasy is involved. Its not like they are watching an Al-Queda murder live on TV

Its not going to turn them into blood lusting weirdos. Or have you forgotten that kids get their values and principles from their parents (directly or indirectly)?

Kids will have nightmares regardless. I never said I would want to give my children nightmares deliberately, you've pulled that out of your arse. Your reaction in general is ridiculous at an issue so small. Do you have children? Do you not let them develop on immune system by disinfecting everything every 10 seconds and stopping them from playing outside?

The biggest men throw insults around on the internet.

i might give it a go ,i'm a bit bored now after giving up on wow, last scary game i played was alien vs predator and that scared the crap out of me :D

What might seem pretty scary for you, will be unforgettable for some time for a kid that has never seen this sort of thing before. Don't you understand this? Sure it may seem like it's only making them jump out their chair, but how do you know that's all it's doing to them? Truth is you don't do you? Of course it's going to emotionally effect them so why introduce it in the first place? Sure some *might* take it ok, but why risk it? Why show a kid violence macabre video's and images if you don't need to? For fun?? For a laugh to see their face?? This is why this jerk on youtube needs to grow the **** up and act 23 instead of 15.

You are still trying to justify that an 18 rated game is absolutely fine for an 8 or 10 year old kid and that is just retarded thinking IMO. Are you telling me you disagree to age ratings on games and films? Would you let your 8 year old kid watch exorcist or saw? It's not real is it? Or would a kid perceive it to be real? Definitely

And yes i do have a kid. She's only 9 months at the moment, but i'll try my hardest to keep her away from this sort of stuff until she is emotionally capable of dealing with it and that's something most 8 year olds are not capable of IMO.

Meh, those kids are wimps, lol.

My 6 year old niece was watching me play Dead Space first time round and although it was a little jumpy here and there, even she laughed afterwards, knowing full well, it's not real and within the context that she was viewing the violence, it was harmless and purely for entertainment.

That said I do agree though not all kids can handle it and that is just a result of how their parents choose to expose these things to their children. What I don't agree with though is that every child will suddenly become a psychotic murderer immediately after viewing such violent content.

Remember, context is key.

That's because the youtube vid is actually a video recording of the tv the game is being played on, which usually has the effect of enhancing contrast (making colours look deeper) and smothering any flaws in the graphics - i.e. any comparision you make is ultimately inacccurate.

I've seen the PS3 and 360 versions and they look pretty much identical to the PC version, except on my PC the graphics are sharper (higher resolution) and running at a much higher framerate.

Guys, I still don't understand how can you get that military suit and keep all guns - It works when I save the game after credits and then start new game by choosing continue - but that way I start new game as easy again!:( But when I try to start new game as impossible after I save the game, it starts clean game...
