to be fair , my asus x99 deluxe board took a while to boot , i think it was a quirk with X99
Yep, same, seems a bit quicker than before.

Problem is, PC has rebooted once since, same issue, fans go high, machine goes offline. Not seen anything like it before.

I dont want to jinx is but it looks like a Firmware upgrade on the GFX card has sorted it. Not sure why this was never an issue before.

Having endless issues now with the system.

PC boots, bios loads, doesnt get to Windows, blackscreen, GPU fans max out.

Tried a few things, nothing works.

Thought I had solved it last night, put new clean thermal paste on the card.

Today, no go. I'm now back on my old PC, same Gfx card works here no problem.

Windows had offered to repair but since then, I dont even get a Windows boot, thoughts?

Ok, believe the problem is solved.

Managed to get booted into Windows again, ran Prime 95 and a few tools. Looked at various measurements, spotted 12V was sitting at 10.xV. Started to measure with voltmeter, moved some cables around, noticed that the mobo power cut in and out.

Long story short, turns out that the mobo PSU cable (modular PSU) wasnt in 100% and was causing a problem. Have since pushed everything in correctly and not had any issues. HWWiz is now reporting 12V on the rail too.

I suspect this could have been from when I removed the mobo first time round when the CPU died.

Phew.
