Dealer annoyances

I would sell it at work for £38.50inc VAT for 4 litres, we dont keep it though, ive never ever been asked for it tbh, most of my customers want to pay next to nothing for oil.

But a £7 a throw i can live with monthly oil changes :p

I would actually rather use a good indy than a dealership. Even if the indy cost more. Dealerships never really seem to care too much about the car, whereas the indy needs your business to feed his kids.

Sytner are the Alpina agents for the UK and have a very good reputation at Nottingham. They did an absolutely faultless job of my car in fairly quick time and lowest price of the 3 dealers I contacted.

What do we make of that oilguy who is on every single forum ever? Does he know his stuff?

Gibbo's spoken to him on the phone a few times and he seems to know his stuff although generally as long as you get the correct oil rating (LL01 - same for me and you I believe) then it should be ok. He has Castrol Edge 4L for around £38 if you have a members login. Sytner actually used Mobil1 equivalent in mine and we have a Costco nearby although need to renew the membership.

You will probably find that if you can get enough interest to do a group buy Fox, oilman could do a discount. I'd certainly be up for buying another 6L ready for my next service as long as it is Castrol Edge or Mobil1.

He's a salesman and posts stuff that other people have written as if he has written it.

Nothing wrong with that but he does harp on about all engines needing fully synthetic even though the owners change it every 10miles :p
