Decreasing Procras..maybe steps how? :P

The biggest problem I ever had with uni was actually sitting down and starting the work. Once you begin and get into the flow it's nowhere near as bad as you imagine (usually). Try leaving the house and going into uni to do the work, less distractions, nothing else to do but do the work. Then when you get home you can relax, treat it like a 9 to 5 job.

Finally, by actually getting on and doing the work you'll be much more relaxed in your free time rather than having looming deadlines in the back of your mind.

Any tips or advice of ways to help? :3

Presumably stalling work for two weeks is having a noticeable impact on the quality of your work. Doesn't the idea of accumulating a lot of debt for a naff university grade motivate you to pull your finger out?

Get banned from OcUK. Watch productivity increase 200%.

This is 100% true!

I was like this doing my A levels, didn't help that I hated them, but I was getting so stressed with the thought of doing it last minute and the work piling up from 4 different subjects. So I made sure I didn't touch any technology until I got everything done and it was such a relief .. Now I do all my coursework the day I get it or as much as I can, no where near as stressed and I game have hassle free gaming sessions :D

Always had a problem with it - I have difficulty knowing where to start - once I'm in the middle of something I'm fine but until I find the first thread so to speak its no go no matter how much I turn off other distraction, etc. (infact can be counter productive as often I've sat watching a TV show while going over something in my mind then got my head around where to start).

I cannot recommend this enough. At the start of university I was very bad with procrastination and a couple of close calls and very late nights with big pieces of coursework were the signs that told me to get my act together. I found that pretty much exactly this was the best solution to the problem (work at uni using their computers as much as is physically possible, treat it as a 9-5 job*, don't go home till I've got a significant amount of coursework completed or old lectures revised).

*I liked sleeping in and uni was always open late, so it was less 9-5 and more 11-7.

Looked at the OP's profile. It says he is 21.
I was assuming he was 18!

Basically the real world it really going to hurt I'm afraid!

Full time work is easier than uni in this regard because there is no homework. I walk in at 9, work, and get out at 5, no procrastination is possible.

I don't think there is any kind of strategy to beat procrastination...

You avoid doing the work because its less fun and its boring. Nothing will change that, just gotta suck it up deal with it and get it done.

Without reading the others, I'm similar to you in that I'm a bit of a "last minute" person - however, on my HNC (as part of my apprenticeship) I've been a lot better than I have been in the past with coursework; I force myself to do a little bit per day (same for my NVQ).

One thing I've started doing as well which helps me know exactly where I am and when I can start crapping myself about deadlines is literally have post-it stickies on my monitor or desk, one for each assignment I have due as well as the deadline for when due; that way I can't avoid noticing it. I've never missed a deadline previously anyway but this has definitely helped me be more organised, which is definitely required when you get 6/7 assignments given to you per block! :o

I have had this problem all my life.. I am inherently lazy... (unless its something I am excited by) you just have to accept that and then you can plan around it..

Make sure you order your work by importance... aim to achieve a couple of work items or goals and then give yourself a break.

I do this every day running my business.. there are things I have to do and things I want to do! sometimes I get lucky and they are both! but often I will set myself a goal like I will do 3 have to do's in the morning and then in the afternoon I get to do a want to do.. like working on a particularly interesting project / proposal / idea.. etc..

Music is my motivator. I could put something off for weeks, but if the right tune pops up, it'll be done in no time.
