Defense Grid

Just started playing this today, put in a couple of hours and liking it so far. I've played a flash based tower defense game before which was fun but this is a bit slicker, got voiceovers etc. Definitely don't begrudge the £1.40 asking price even if I end up getting bored of it.
Say goodbye to your spare time for a week or 2 :)

You need to direct all the aliens on a path that goes around every platform, so they hit each platform at least two or three times before eaching the cores. Three missile turrets, along with upgraded gun turrets placed to direct the aliens, are enough to take out air units.

Picked this up recently to great game.

I really wish this used steamcloud. Gets annoying when you change pc and realise you haven't got any progression in the story at all...

Yeah, most bizarre. I thought with Steam achievements, Steam cloud was a given. :( Surely they could easily patch it in?

I think the extent to which steam applies it's various features and capabilities is pretty specific to whichever title you're talking about. Two separate games that "have Steamworks" could both have different features. ie one might have cloud syncing support for settings, another just for save games. It's weird.

Well it depends on the game. You can't exactly save games on the likes of TF2 or L4D. But SP are surely save games steamcloud.

Anyone still play this?

Logged onto Steam the other day and found out there's some free DLC in the shape of a couple of free maps :)

They also appear to have fixed the scoreboards... but made them pointless by allowing people to post obviously impossible scores on them :/ I think every Top 20 score is a cheat so if you get in the Top 30 you've done very well!!

I've been playing the final level on Resurgence - Overflow which is a good map.

Campaign Challenge currently 29th
20 Tower Limit - 35th
Campaign Reversed - 40th

Got quite a few Top 50 scores upto now. Also I see they've made improvements to the tesla tower so might be worth having a play around see if it's now actually a useable tower.

I see it's currently £3.49 for this game, I would have paid a full RRP of £30 to be honest, well worth it.
I had a top 10 score once without glitching or cheating, but I'm sure it's not there any more...
Top 10 is impossible now unfortunately, there seem to be about 20 people sad enough to actually cheat on every single map! It's shame they don't clean the boards up as this game is all about score and seeing how you can get the most out of each map.... it's easy to spot which scores aren't real.
