Well I havent spoke to the CAB yet, Im about to ring the guy and see what he has to say about the matter (I'm going to take the car down there today).

I wont name the company untill I get a little further with this..

Ok. Sounds good.

I'm willing to bet he'll say something like "ohhh, just bring it down here, it's probably just a sensor" and he'll attempt to fob you off. Play hard ball - ask for your money back.

The engine light and airbag lights were removed? As in the bulbs were taken out to prevent them showing?

I would be mighty peeved off about that and threatening legal action to get my money back, surely they can't do that?

To take it down the garage I assume to take a look whats wrong with.

What grounds do I have on getting my cash+px ex back?

Did you buy it from a proper garage ? Can you proivde a link to their web page ? Did they MOT it ? it should fail with the airbag light not working as the start up routine of this should be checked.

You want rid of this car ASAP it is clearly a dog and with no airbag light in the car will mean more than likely no airbags fitted !

id kick off. theyve sold you a very duff car, with a sketchy MOT. Im sure they wouldnt want you to be bringing the sketchy MOT centre they clearly have "benefits" with brought to the attention of VOSA

What use would a link to their website be?

You can get a good feel for how reputable a company are from their webpage and stock they sell.

You need to take legal advise ASAP to reject the car in writing listing the faults making note that it shouldn't have passed its MOT with the faulty airbag light. If they have not bothered to fix or replace the airbags just think what they might have done with the rest of the repairs.

He said the one he has had 40k miles on the clock with no service history for 4k

That one has 96k with full service history for £4k.

Which begs the question, why did he go for the one without any history?!

Anyway, any update OP?

LOW MILEAGE IS THE BEST THING EVER.

Probably the same car. :p

Well Im a stupid noob to be honest and rushed into it for the simple sake of ease because I couldnt be bothered looking around properly.

Yes its stupid, its cost me dearly and enough to **** me off all week, what you guys are hearing is only half the problems I'm having with the car. I wont spill the whole story just to amuse you, because I feel stupid enough already and it's cost me dearly.

Dunno what the hell todo now :(

If the car has problems that were not disclosed when you bought the car from the dealer you could get your money back. Depending what is wrong with the car and how far you want to go to get it sorted. Call trading standards they can help. As you bought the car from a dealer it must be fit for purpose for a miniumum of 3 months from date of purchase if not you can return the car and demand a refund. I have personally actualy done this myself and after a bit of arsing around had the cost of the car refunded and supplementary costs as well...

I was going to just post "LOL" and leave, but at least you've accepted that you've made a mistake and want to rectify it.

I'd personally have the CAB involved, and start threatening the garage with legal action unless they cough up a full refund. Who knows what could go wrong with this car in the future - what if your brakes go wrong at 70mph?

CAB advice from an advisor sat next to: Take it back and demand a refund and return of your trrade-in or at very least an appropriate replacement on the basis of the warning lights being off. if he doesn't want to do this, you will be speaking to Trading Standards. The car was sold to you as genuine miles yet he cannot back this up.
