cant wait to see this in 3d, hope my local cinema will be showing the full fat 48fps 3d version!

Here's the list of Odeon cinemas showing 3D HFR.... mind you this is far from complete and Odeon will be adding more screens until the film opens. :)

Blackpool
Bournemouth
Brighton
Chelmsford
Dundee
Dunfermline
Glasgow Quay
Hatfield
Kensington
Kingston
Lincoln
Norwich
Trafford Centre
Tunbridge Wells
Wrexham Eagles Meadow

Saw the trailer for this last night, when we went to see Skyfall.

I now remember how much I enjoyed LOTR. Can't wait :)

Probably watch this in normal cinema in 2d (something I don't usually do) rather than imax 3d...but only because I have 2 cinema tickets to use by 2013

Shame

Well,it's different to the HFR on modern Tv's..... give it a try.

its just a bit risky, because if it does give me that slightly nauseous feeling i wont be able to watch it. ill await reviews.

but i dont think their will be anything else i want to see with my free ticket

My tickets are booked to see it in IMAX HFR 3D. It's probably the only film worth watching in 3D because of the 48fps... I can only imagine it will look more fluid and real.

Should b quite the spectacle in IMAX. :)

Ah,that's understandable.Although the higher frame-rate should make it smoother... reviews should give a good indication.

yeah i think its the smoothness that for some reason makes me feel like that, its hard to explain but the fluidity on demos of 48fps look 'wrong' especially in panning scenes.

will have to find some 48fps stuff and play them on my tv.

I think I am going all out on this one, especially since the london bfi imax refitted their screen and projector this year. If you are going to enjoy this film, do it properly, with a giant **** off screen, and a 'why are my ears bleeding?' sound system.

Damn right. My premium tickets are booked for the 11am showing on 21st Dec :)
