DPD damage the box so bad that I wasn't prepared to keep it! so I tested it as Ocuk said to do, and they sent me a replacement on Saturday/today, And will collect the Faulty one on Monday. Which also had a dead pixel view able from about 6 feet!

Weather you notice it or not, When you paying £450+ for a monitor you'd expect perfection!

I can understand dead pixels, back light bleed, scratches, dents but a tiny gap where 2 parts of the chassis join, which you won't notice unless viewing from a certain angle and at a very close distance just seems odd.... It reminds me of the time when the htc one m7 was released and people were giving of about there being a gap between the speaker and glass screen and that they could fit paper between it :p :o

Fair enough if it bothers people.

All I can say is don't ever get one of the 21.9 monitors, they have a noticeable gap all the way around the chassis/assembly of the monitor and the actual panel/bezel:

I think my faithful dell 2405fpw has started to die, noticed a big patch of clouding and its started to emit a high pitch whine infact its now the loudest component in my rig :(. So question is what to replace it with? The contenders are dell 2715h, dell 2716dg and the dell 3415 ultrawide. Iam only a casual gamer really, use my pc for browsing web, listening to music, editing photos with lightroom and ps.

Is that really an issue though?

Do you actually notice that in "normal" usage?

Mine is the same, there is a slight bulge in the bezel. Does it bother me....not one bit!

Finally got to unbox mine.

Looks like its been dropped (probably the courier at a guess) as the corner of the screen is smashed and the box has some damage.

Had cancelled my plans for tonight so I could play about with it as well.

Have started the RMA process....

I ordered a new Dell monitor last Friday, and it is due for delivery today. I received an email this morning telling me it would be delivered between 2 and 3 pm, and I could watch its progress, so I did. I live in Macclesfield, and I could see on the tracker the driver was dropping of a lot of parcels in the town center, about 10 minutes away, but as my parcel was 70th, I was was a bit surprised when the time said he would be with me in about 3hours and 45 minutes, but then I have just looked, and he is no longer in the town center, but just off the coast of Turkey !!!
Wow, is he in a hover jet, should I be worried ?
Seriously it is just a funny glitch I expect, but I do hope my monitor is not buried under 70 parcels, it will be squashed.

Well it arrived on time, not crushed, and works A1

I must admit I procrastinated over buying a new monitor for several months due to concerns around QC, but after 7 years with a very good Samsung 23 inch Syncmaster, this is simply amazing. I have downloaded a profile from earlier on in this thread, and the colours are, to me, brilliant.
If I look very carefully I can see the faintest trace of vary pale bleed along the bottom, no problem at all. I note a guy has had a pixel go after it initially had no fault, not sure if I could face a dead pixel now ;0)
I am using a KFA2 GTX 670 oc ex 4gb which is giving me up to 120 refresh, which is the most windows 7 will let me set the refresh, looks like a GTX 980 may be next.

Now I'm ****ed. Survived the temptation this long but just decided to buy one only to find its gone back to £499! At that price I can wait. At £429 Dell would clear-up in this market as it was an exceptional price.

Gibbo - PM me if you want to 'sneak' one to me at yesterdays price ;)
