Dell U2713 HM

why someone says that U2711 with CCFL is better?

U2713 pretty cheap here, around 599€. In UK?

Who's said that? It all depends on your uses and requirements as they are both quite different screens. They are still both available (although looks like the U2711 will be replaced soon by the new U2713H). See the comparison section in the TFT central review which should help :)

You hear that where?!

Most of the standard "go to" review sites have stated the input lag as being around 30ms and stating that it's "ok" for gaming but not if you're doing it very competitively. I kind of expected all 27"s to have extra lag compared to my 24" though.

:EDIT:

Infact, your review was one of the first reviews I read and you too picked up on the lag issue. I don't really know how badly "moderate" input lag will affect me though. I did however put an order in today so I shall find out my self on tuesday!

Will upload pictures of black screen!

Ah ok well I wouldn't call the input lag "particularly bad" really, it's not mega low but it's not terrible either. The response times are actually very good though for gaming

How is the screen compared to the NEC 20WGX2 in terms of the glossiness? I'm looking for an upgrade and really like the glossiness on the NEC. Is it very different?

It isn't as glossy as that but gives a surprisingly clean look and vibrant look to the image all things considered.

Screen came a day early even though it was ordered late at night on a friday. I just checked a black screen (via checking out while it was booting and using VLC to get a full black screen) and, at least in daylight, I have 100% no backlight bleed at all. I did not expect this.

I will check again tonight to confirm.

I have found no problems with lag playing games infact it was baddass's review and speaking to him that actualy made my mind up about getting this monitor and i have zero regrets its a great monitor and baddass was amazingly heplful with all my questions about this monitor.

Glad you like it Mumbo its a shame most of the comments you find are always negative ones as most of all the good ones never get posted by people.

It's true, but I am at least glad that people were making it known that there was some sort of panel lottery going on with the backlight bleed. I was very surprised to see that, in daylight at least, I have no backlight bleed at all.

How have you lot set up your colours? I've never really fiddled with OSD settings before and I was wondering if there was any little tweaks that were suggested? I am currently running it in standard but I see that the sRGB is already calibrated?

I definitely think I might turn the brightness down a little.

Set mine up last night and I'm very happy with it. No problem with the few games I tried (Black Ops 2, WoW, TF2). Will give battlefield a go tonight maybe.

Everything just looks better on it and the extra screen real estate is welcome.
