Dell U2913WM

yeh I love the look of the LG too but their QC lately is so horrible
and I cant believe anyone took that anandtech review seriously, I remember reading that and just shaking my head in disbelief

that cherry picked screen you cant buy anywhere
there needs to be more companies making panels :(

Hmm got a strange problem with my monitor, or maybe a feature i dont know how to control..

I have set the monitor to the 'game' preset, for obvious reasons, i like it good brightness e.t.c i can go and play a game, minimise to windows or something different and notice the monitor was not as bright as it first was. If i go into the screens menu and hover over game mode again it automatically bumps the brightness back to where it was.

Is this somesort of energey saving feature? i want to switch it off.

God freaking dammit. Not having much luck with monitors! Line of dead pixels in the middle third of the screen!

Another RMA to arrange then, sigh. Lets hope OcUK are as good at this as their competitor was with my LG.
No idea how this could happen if these are supposedly individually calibrated at the factory.

Seriously thinking getting one of these, Would be coming from a Samsung BX2450 to first time dell monitor, Will i see a noticeable difference in image quality.

Is everyone so far who has purchased one recently, Happy with the monitor, With the exception of Chris1712

Could someone post up the dimensions of the base of the stand, Thanks.

Complete happy with mine, i upgraded from some random 24" ASUS panel, the colours are simply awsome in comparison, really enjoying it for gameing aswell.

Hey Acolyte, Glad to hear your happy with your monitor, Take it you sorted the brightness issue thing out,

Could you please measure the base of the stand for us, Width & Length, Width being the more important of the two, Thanks.

Hi yes the brightness was "dynamic contrast" setting, i disabled it and ive had no problems since.

The stand footprint size is 29cm wide x 18.5cm depth, these arent exact but won't be far off.

Im keeping my eye on this thread as this monitor is very interesting when it comes to blu-rays as i simply despise that black border. The only problem is getting perfect 1:1 pixel matching which apparantly u cannot do yet?

Also how u chaps finding game support? I could not buy one now as Witcher II and others have no support for 21:9 so do u guys simply use black bars on the sides and select 16:9?

More pics and videos needed imo

Just to add my 10 pence worth:

Bought this monitor from OCUK a couple of weeks ago at £479. Was immediately impressed with it after trying the terrible Benq XL2720T. My Dell did have a couple of problems though, using Display Port 1.2 caused screen corruption and the Bezel was didn't sit flush with the screen where the control buttons were. I contacted OCUK and got a replacement. This had no Display Port issues but still had a Bezel problem. I contacted Dell directly and all they needed was order number OCUK's supplier had for the shipment of these monitor's. A few days later and the replacement arrived via UPS. The OCUK monitor had Manufactured Date Nov 2012, this has March 2013 and it is a new revision.

That's interesting do you mind my asking what rev is the new one you received? Thanks

Yep, Very interesting, Could do with a staff member verifing current stock manufacturing dates going off what doctorsplendid is saying as i plan on ordering one tonight but dont want any issues if its avoidable

Mine is A01 :-)

Also Dell supplied me with a NEW one not a refurbished one as they sometimes do.

And I bloody love this monitor, for gaming my U2713HM just doesn't compare.

Has anyone tried running Skyrim, Counterstrike:Global Offensive, Warcraft or StarCraft on it?

Want to make sure my favourite games will work OK in 21:9 before pressing the order button! I take it even if game has no 21:9 support you can still run it at 16:9 1920x1080 just with borders at the sides to keep the aspect correct?

Skyrim works fine, WOW runs fine. Set the monitor to Auto Resize and it seems to work fine with 1920x1080 games as it keeps the resolution and just places borders down the sides.
