Demigod by Gas Powered Games (SupCom)

this is wicked, had my 1st campaign (8 rounds) and i'm hooked!

Only played as the Rook, but thats loads of fun! Not normally my cup of tea these games.

just played my first map as the 'horny beotch' .. didnt really have a clue what i was doing but i loved it haha .. second map only took 14mins to win although amongst all the chaos i dont know why we won as their citadel was still up'

special mention to the voice overs which are quite like UT' with 'GODLIKE!!!' booming out amongst others .. superb

Care to elaborate on that? I'd like to hear some negatives before I purchase this - it looks awesome in the videos but I'm still unsure.

Well there is no real single player. Its like Unreal Tournament 3 which was priced lower than normal and Left4dead which was overpriced imho. Furthermore, itemisation is worse than dota which is a free mod. finally, it has only 8 heroes but they promised to add more heroes and maps as free dlc.

...how do i summon creatures. I don't understand this game.

the small creatures just spawn and march into battle, your Demigod is there to either help them advance or play support to the overall effort..

the Rook is a clobbering machine which can summon small turrets, albiet they are not very powerfull or strong, which you get in the form of upgrades when you level.

the Queen of Thorns can close up into a shield and summon, again depending on the points you have upgraded, upto 4 creatures to fight for her .. you can in times of need devour them to gain morale although you regen pwr/mor when 'balled'up ..

only two ive tried so far ^^

dont forget you can buy potions and stuff from the shops you control and also upgrade your Citadel ...

its all trial and error atm but each play opens up moments of ' aaahhh so thats how you do that !! '' maaaarvelous stuff !!!

Stardock certainly have won me over, their stance on dirty pirates and having faith in selling a game with no copy protection knowing it is worthy of your money , props to them ! support them !

I've been a fan of Stardock for a while too, great little company. :D

the game is good and highly addictive. however, I dont think its worth full price.

extremely strange comment when its only been out for a day !!!

for £26 you get a game with no stupid activation problems, fully implemented multiplayer, skirmish modes , plenty of Demigods and maps , tons of upgrades, a full online matching system .. etc etc

considering console churn costs £35-45 and lasts about 4-6 hrs (not counting COD type games) Demigod has massive longevity and is a bargain tbh

but thats just my opinion .... and im right ... ;)

i pre-ordered Sins from Stardock beards ago, opted for the digital+boxset .. was able to download at uber fast speeds and play straight away. It was about 2-3weeks later i got the Special edition boxset in the mail with another serial key in the box !! i effectively got two Sins for the price of one !! result !!

was going to do the same this time but the damn dollar is too high when we convert to proper money

Wait for the retail release at the end of the month and you can preorder for £17.99 from one of the normal places.

Still want a demo first though.

This does have a story mode yeah no crappy maps only to win? Theres cinematics, and story and level after level to your god hood yeah? I dont fancy just playing map after map with no goals like some rts games i.e civ 4 (tbs but similar thing i mean).

Nah, i think its only maps to win. Win 8 maps in a single player tournament and you'll be made a god.

nope. if you win the Tournament you get a bit of cinematic, but nothing rewarding
