Demigod by Gas Powered Games (SupCom)

Of course it has a manual! For the demo manual look under start->programs->stardock games->DemiGod demo->manual!

Yep, spotted that after I had posted, does the boxed game come with a printed manual or is it just the .pdf still?

The game really doesn't need a tutorial - it's very quick to learn the basics.

Every game should have a tutorial, if I wanted a puzzle I'd have bought or downloaded a puzzle game/demo.

Not sure re manual, I would expect it to but I brought mine on Stardocks Impulse so only had pdf. I see it's going quite cheap on sites such as play

I don't disagree with your comments on the tutorial. The game is worth the learning curve imho.

I find tutorials tend to mislead me. They usually only show the very basics of basics, and claim those to be the best strategies. By learning myself, yeah, it's harder at first, but I get a better understanding of the game, all the different strategies, and I can adapt to play the best that I can, rather than trying to use the crappy techniques the tutorial showed me.

I dno just couldn't really get into the game, played against AI as the big tower and then the guy with the crossbow

AI is quite a poor game compared to human. The AI just has very poor strategy - i'd really only use it to get used to your own skill trees, the Rook (tower guy) is a lot of fun particularly when you get hold of the boulder to stun people. Regulus is more a stalker laying mines and then shooting from a far to get the kill. It may be something that just isn't going to appeal but could be worth a little longer

Dota players generally find it too lite, I play Hon (which is fairly close to Dota) and DG. Currently prefer DG but I can see a point when Hon will be my preference for it's depth. Dependant on how the mod scene effects DG

I saw a great tip today:

When the game starts, double click your avatar in the middle at the bottom of the screen. This stops the arena spinning, alowing you to open the shop before you would normally.

Works a treat for getting to the first flag a second or two before the enemy :)

Anyone played with Frogboy? I got in on a 3v3 created by Frogboy last night but was not right in the head at the time so pussed out.

Just curious how he plays?

argh I should have played! I am pretty sure I would have fallen asleep during the game though, I didn't want to let my team-mates down during such an important game.
