Demons Souls PS3

I have followed KNiVES advice and restarted with the royalty class and found the first level allot easier and I did not die once this time (unlike the previous 10 deaths ).

Great game and I am still amazed that it has not been released here in Europe as it would do well.

I keep dying to the Flamelurker at the moment. I don't have any magic attacks or sticky white goo so I'm just trying to brute force him. I die because i'm unlucky.

I've been using the souls I get off the bosses for their currency. Should I be saving these for those items you can redeem with them?

No no no do not use the demon souls for currency. They can be exchanged for higher level magic/miracles and once you have given the Flamelurkers soul to Ed you can forge weapons with the Demon souls. Some of the Souls have multiple uses which is why it takes 4 playthroughs to get everything in the game.

As for the Flamelurker I just kept my distanced and spam him with soul arrows, but in your case just time your attacks and try and keep out of his way.

Re: the above the Tower Knights soul can be exchanged for a spell called Total protection which is really handy when you up against the boses :)

Crap. So has that basically screwed my entire playthrough up? I could always get it again in NG+ I guess.
You've not "screwed up" your playthrough, but depending on the Demon Souls you've already consumed, you may have missed out on some useful spells or weaponry. None are essential though, as long as you take your time to work out the weaknesses with each enemy and boss.

Whilst playing the game yesterday I rather sheepishly pressed R1 on my controller instead of X when chancing upon a merchent in world 4-1. Now the blighter is hell bent on killing me. Is there any way of subduing this character, so as to resume my trade with him?

Normally I'd say no but see if he turns up at the beginning of 4-2 and whether he will trade with you then.

got mine the other day, accidently orded 2 copies . WOW is this game solid.... i must admit, you do feel a massive sense of accomplishment when getting past area's you've died in quite a bit. currently on the 2nd boss, man is he hard but i have herd its nothing compared to later on. Good game. :D

Only criticism I have is that the quality of the sound is poor. I am not talking about the music and sound effects used but the audio quality. For exsample there is bad audio distortion with explosions. I am using top end headphones with a dedicated headphone amp and all other ps3 games sound very good.

Is this ever coming out in Europe or shall I get it from US?

Just seen a posting on Play for this, no details given at all, but it now has a listing. Must (maybe:D) mean that news of an EU release is imminent?!?

After owning the game for a number of months, I finally started on my first play through last week, and I must say that although it's tough, it's also great!

I lost my saved game when moved to a PS3 slim. It was my fault but I'm reluctant to start this game again.

Too damn tough to play through again. All though a Royal could make things easier.

FINALLY started playing this after months of saying I was going to start!

Went with Royal to start with but I'm a bit confused! Well very.

Played for about 20-30mins and got to a bridge with a guy at the other end, he whooped my ass in 1 hit so I tried again and died again, guessing I go through the fog elsewhere and not try to get past him?

Also when I died, I lost all my souls but started at the beginning of the level, I thought I became a soul and had to get back to my body to get my souls back? I went back to the bridge but my souls weren't there so I lost 1k of them!

When you die you don't get your body back by going to where you died last. You can only pick up the souls you lost from there but you'll stay in soul form.

Dying is completely normal and soul form is a large part of the game. About 80% of first playthroughs are in soul form. You hit harder, and have stealthy movement (you don't make any noises at all). Two major advantages over body form.

By any chance was the guy at the end of the bridge a knight with red eyes tsinc80697?
