Eating serotonin does nothing, it cannot permeate the blood brain barrier.
The role of diet in psychiatric disorders is very small except for malnutrition, eating some sugary or fatty food does not cause depression.
Yeah it's other things you are looking out for in veg i've not fully researched it diet in combination with depression. It's just a statement and a link theres a few more on google disucssing it in great detail, I was just linking the article. However there are things diet wise you can do to boost serotonin.
Either way, you should not eat tons of sugar or fatty food. Period. Depression or not. However, when I cleaned my diet up I felt tonnes better and had more energy and noticed a greatly improved mood.
A couple good books on it are 150 healthiest foods, Ultra mind solution and primal blueprint couple good ones if anyone's interested.
