**DER8AUER DELID-DIE-MATE PRICE DROP**

Is there some risk of the liquid metal spreading off the die onto the nearby metal contacts?

Close to pulling the trigger on this :p

No. You use VERY little liquid metal - then you carefully spread it to cover the die.

It's liquid, so no worry about air bubbles like with normal TIM.

We just delided 7700K with this.
Awesome.
However, the side that you would use to glue the ihs back is not compatible with kaby lake ihs.
It would be worth it to report it to EK/der8auer so they can change the design.

Used one of these before on a 4790k then sold it on.

I've went for a rockit delid and relid tool this time for my 7700k, really not happy with temps.

1. What's the purpose of the airgap?

2. I assume this is not needed when not sealing IHS and only using the retention clip to keep it in place?

If you look at your cpu there is a airgap on one edge. Presumeably it's there to let any heated air out so that it doesn't build up in the confined space and do something bad.

Hi,

Yes this is now EOL but we will hopefully be getting more shortly. I will post it in the forum when available.

OMG, peeps who bought the Delid Die Mate @ £50 must be kicking themselves seeing Delid Die Mate 2 is Pre-order of £27  .
