Just doesnt seem imposing enough on the page...

doesnt make the desired impact if you ask me which is what you want your consumers to notice surely? you want them to relate to the brand of OcUK

Well done to Katie though, a great logo it just doesnt seem to work! :confused:

The white background might save it however

Your first two words sum up what I said, just shorter, and differently.
 
Maybe if it was larger and incorporated the UK flag it would be better?

Maybe if the UK in the logo instead of being grey could actually have the Union jack inside of it or something.
 
Looks nice, but as mentioned the color sceme for the other parts of the site needs a tweak or two to make it look great :) The white banner background looks quite nice that the winner posted a mock up of, but i guess the ocuk staff will have a play about and see what looks best.

And guys, handbags down :)

This is also my genuine opinion... it just doesn't "look right"... it's too big and it doesn't fit. The whole beauty of the OCUK logo has always been the simplicity and the fact that it's not just text, it's also an icon... almost flag-like in its' recognisability.

IMHO this would have been the obvious choice out of the finalists:

The above looks like it's always been there, which is the best accolade I can give any entry and would suit any background.

I believe as time wears on people will start to see that the current one just doesn't fit...

It seems to be a simple thing of;

You can't sell a dead horse, no matter how much you dress it up.

Meaning, the website needs a general refresh overall, the tiny bit of jazzing up makes it all seem a bit disjointed now.
Not saying it's a bad logo, but I think the white site made it look a lot better, and thats what the site needs, a complete refresh, yet a simple one.

Yeah - like cleaning a dirty bit of wall. You get a nice clean patch. But that patch exposes the filth of the whole enterprise.
 
Hmmph actually looking now it is growing on me. It hadnt actually occurred to me just how bad the old logo was lol. It certainly already makes it look much better. Also, i don't think the OcUk site looks too bad as a whole, but a refresh would be nice.
 
I love the new logo :cool:

We'll be experimenting with subtle changes including white backrounds within the coming days :)

In all honesty, I don't pay attention to it anyway, don't even look at it when I first load up the site or forums.
