The wine is a necessity ;)

Looking up from the desk itself would be a pain for extended periods of time, but to be honest I typically use it from 6-8 feet away (bed), hence the wireless keyboard and mouse. I did do about 2 hours of work sat at it this afternoon, and it wasn't "that" bad, it's hard to tell from the angle of the photo, but the wallmount it angled down by 15 degrees, so it's less of a pain than it appears.

For productive work I've got my main PC attached to a 24" Samsung 245B, but that's out of shot on another desk.

As for what it is, it's a 2010 Samsung LE40C580 40" 1080p TV, and is mainly used for web browsing, TV and video playback for when I'm relaxing in/on bed. It's DLNA compliant so streams from my network :) Best part of all, it cost me £165 :D

A couple of updates.

LOLMACS!

Nice set-up though. I do like the desk. I want that type of wood for my desk. I think a trip to Ikea is in order to replace just the worktop of my desk!

Anybody no of a good website/shop to buy a large desk from? Not wanting to spend a huge amount on a desk so around £100 mark.

I've checked ikea but they all look ugly and cost like £300. Would need to be about 180cm in length.

Would need to suit 2 pcs with space for the keyboard and mouse :)

Are you looking for wood? Glass? Contemporary look or classic?

I have the Ikea Jonas desk and it looks a lot better in person than it does in the Ikea pics. It looks absolutely solid and everyone who sees it is surprised when I say it was only £100. It's not quite as solid as it looks, but it's definitely not flimsy.

I spent ages looking through sites before settling on the Jonas. Try homeofficeworld.co.uk and space2.com

May I ask how you did the side panel? Looking at doing the same myself.

You may. Basically I measured out what I wanted to achieve on some masking tape, so not to mark the paint. Me and my father then cut out the main hole using a hand saw with a blade designed for metal. Due to me having to return to university my father dremelled and buffed it down as near to my markings as possible. We then put some u-tubing around the edge of the hole to neaten it all up. The plastic itself is a 3mm thick sheet that was cut down to size and is kept on my very strong velcro so I can change the plastic if I ever need to without damaging the metal. Works really well.

Looks great, may I also ask where you got the u-tubing from? And is the clear acrylic placed on the inside of the case or flush with the panel?

Thanks.
