Anyway, I returned the speakers above, they didn't live up to my requirements so I got the Tannoy Mercury V4 after reading about them on AV Forums and WOW do they deliver!

Ooof, I bet they do! I'm rocking an older set of Mercurys in my AV setup. Fire up a good tune and the front floorstanders still make me smile.
Tannoy kit is under-rated these days. Retailer such as RS prefer to push their own brands instead...

I had some Tannoy M3* floorstanders many years ago, in fact they were my first speaker and I paid £50 or so for them used and it was then that I had to get moar, MOAR!
