@RedMogg Where did you get the stand from (the banana one, assuming it is one). I can't find one anywhere however reluctant to buy one in case it's not sturdy enough.

Lakeland or John Lewis, my mother was no longer using it for it's intended purpose, so I commandeered it :p (Google banana hanger - the big river have plenty for a decent price)

I found this article which may provide some inspiration - I particularly like the ikea hack with cable storage! :)

I bought it from the classifieds on AV forums, about £35 iirc, there's a great community of memorabilililia collectors & traders on there.
Will try and find the official retailer for you...

It's a Gentle Giant Classic Animation statue, limited edition. Had no idea it was worth so much, although mine's been "modified" by the cat (chewed one of his cloak toggles! :()

Thanks man - going to check them out :)

Rearranged the desk slightly since the picture above. Really like the large desk mat, i've stopped falling off either side of the mouse mat now.

Yes that's my hi-fi and home cinema. Not something that can easily be shrunk down without affecting the quality.

From top down this is what's on there:
Turntable - Thorens td 160b
PVR - Topfield 5810
Bluray - Panasonic bdt120
DVD - Cambridge Audio dvd57
Cd1 - Marantz cd-56
Cd2 - Philips cd930
Stereo amp - Luxman l-220
Av receiver - Marantz sr4200

That big black object on the left under my desk is my subwoofer.
In principal I could loose both cd players and the dvd player and just use the bluray player. Quality wise there wouldn't be a significant difference but the wear on it would be much higher. It's also quite noisy with cd's (spins them too fast) and you have to turn the tv on to see what you are doing. I still use cd's because of the car. I still find something oddly enjoyable about choosing a cd or record and putting it on rather than opening winamp and pressing play

Kei, the Marantz UD7007 (or even the UD5007 in fact) is definitely worth a look if you're planning on consolidating on the optical side of things. It's something that is on my list for when i get a new setup.

The rack is custom made to suit my equipment; a variation of the tnt flexi table. It's made using threaded bars with matching washers, nuts and plywood shelves. IIRC, it cost about £100-120 with the main cost being the sheet of interior ply. (Exterior ply would have been nearly half the price, but the finish wasn't as good & it splintered too easily)

I'll stick with the cd players I have for now and I'll wait until they break before replacing them. (The marantz is 27 years old so the laser is going to give up at some point) I'll lift the TD1541 dac out to create a standalone unit then. Nice as those marantz bluray players are, just a bit above my budget at present.

Kei, love your tilt wall mount.

Is that why the other players, £150+ cost so much? I read whisper quiet players... I've been looking at a Panasonic new for 2013 thats in the £200 range.
