I made up the desk from a set of drawers as I did not like the desks at ikea I wanted them all to match. I turned the sides so that the holes would not be seen and fitted the pull out shelf using ikea shelving.

VAT.
£90 of that £450 goes the gov. We're still paying £46 more than the US though. In this country, people complain for a bit, then go and buy these things anyway.

It's not $499 in the US either, there's usually a sales tax applied which varies by state. Hence quoting a net price.
@Cosmic182, is the chair you use comfortable over long periods?
Ill tell you later today, only arrived this morning but so far it's lovely, very very soft leather and so far very comfortable. Ill update you later though about the comfort over a long period. It wasn't a bad price at £159. Build quality is fantastic. It was from office supermarket, I was a little skeptical of ordering from there due to a few naff reviews but I couldn't complain at all. Free next day delivery too.

Moved to Ho Chi Minh , Vietnam 18 months ago for work. have to buy components in the UK and bring them out here when I can. always hot here so some cooling mods.... on the plus side, lots of space!

Good, ive seen it in black before but had my doubts about comfort due to the lack of padding but really love the style of it.

my little man cave squeezed in the dining room. not much to look at, IKEA desk that matches rest of room but pretty much everything i need in one place...PC, PS3, Dreamcast tucked away behind the screen running VGA & a HP Media Smart WH Server
Needs a dust after tidying it all up really, please note the lovely pink pen pot too!

I am here with my family. Great place to live and bring people up. Just not great if you have a PC hobby..... though stops me spending money so easily on upgrades.... get to look forward to them, and spend a lot of time considering them!
