*** Desk and Room Gallery***

A map of the world, then while ya sat there contemplating life, you will also be unconsciously learning geography.

I like the stella fridge, i had one of them for about 5 years in my PC room, but it got a bit noisey so i had to take it back to the kitchen. I do miss just reaching over for a beer, but i figure the only exercise i get while im gaming is walking to the kitchen to get another beer so its probably for the best. ;)

World map actually isn't a bad idea at all, probably cheaper and easier to convince my wife of than my initial thought of more monitors :)

The fridge is very handy there, it does hum a little bit but nothing worse than my PC and when I've got my headphones on I can't hear it at all.

Hope someone is able to help me. I need a desk for my soon to be gaming PC next month. Since delivery would cost £19! I've already got my mate to give me a lift over to Ikea to pick up a desk. But which one? We are planning to go at the end of this month.

Does anyone have any experience with the current stock they have for desks?

i use one of the desk tops, with adjustable legs the one side and then a custom hacked 2x1 expedit storage on the other side.

This is what the wife and I just ordered from Ikea to face lift our desk cant wait for it to be delivered on the 21st of this month, yes there delivery charges aren't cheap but unfortunately it would have cost us more in fuel to go pick it up than it did for the entire order incl delivery. Nearest Ikea is 2.5hours away depending on traffic etc.

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80279404/#/60196513 legs for shelf

Have also ordered a load of there cable management stuff and trunking to try and tidy things up a lot.

May be tempted to do a before and after shot once it all arrives as I also am doing a small PC upgrade at the same time inc new case and monitors :)

Still working on a plan/way to get the PC's up of the floor a little bit to get them off the carpet and give them room to breath.

Interesting. I didn't think about buying separate and building. Is the shelf to have your monitor above your table?

I only live about 23 minutes away in a car journey.

Yep it just lifts them up by 10cm.

Just cleans up the desk a little bit and make some extra desk space I think.

Which is going to be important as the wife and I will be sharing the same desk.

So it will have 3 or 4 x 24" monitors sat on it :) unless I change my mind and get a single large monitor instead of a dual screen setup.

If it its an adjustable breakfast bar leg then it will sustain a huge load. The bottom half of the leg will just be threaded into the top half, then ya just turn to adjust. You would have to screw the desktop to the wall if you only used one leg though.

That looks too much like a breakfast bench. How thick is that wood though? Also are them type of legs really easy to adjust? They just look to me like they wouldn't be able to sustain a heavy load.

From Ikea:
Width: 4 cm
Height: 70 cm
Max. load: 50 kg

So its not adjustable but each leg can take 50Kg so say four legs and weight spread over the table top should be plenty.

I ordered the 200cm long table top and plan to have 6 legs so should be plenty of support as the actual PC's aren't going to be on it just the monitors, keyboards, printer, phone etc.

On the basis that I was going for stronger legs since I'll only be getting 4.

Having a look on Ikea. I'm thinking about getting these:

Reckon these may be good for use?

Could this support a tower/ speakers / 27" monitor and a PS4? With the extra PC peripherals also?

Would this be enough to support?

Finally finished putting my new PSU in as the Corsair AX860i was just giving me non stop trouble, Plus I needed a little extra juice for the 295X2
