Yes they are the correct ones from Ikea.

No 70cm is the depth of the worktop, and the units are 58, which leaves a 11cm void for running cables behind.

If you click 'read more' on the ikea site you will see this information:

Width: 36 cm
Depth: 58 cm
Height: 70 cm

Ah just found that as well thanks. Did you use the fixing kit?

http://www.worktop-express.co.uk/worktop_accessories/worktop_installation_kit.html

I'm just assuming that the worktop is pretty heavy and not sure how suitable for fixing to the units it is that's all. Assume you had no real trouble?

that fixing kit is for making joints in the working i believe - you dont need it. The units from ikea are very sturdy once built and easily take the weight - mines literally just say on top not fixed

couldn't be bothered to upload any previous work space pics as thoses were a mess and kept changing my area around to fit in with the missus bedroom arrangements , so this is just a brief pic(s) of how ive got it setup now after a good tidy up to eliminate crap..

note my cube is not in the pic as its behind me on the floor connected to my tv, need to find suitable place..

crying out for draw storage and corner desk.

edit: what the hell, this is how it is today and still somewhat a mess, i wish i had my own sanctuary meh!!!

ha i did have a largish leather chair months back, but the bed used to be right next to my dvd rack and my table against the other wall, but i had a bit more crap in my section so i couldnt move(well barely moved without crap), so i sold the chair amongst other things and now using a stool i brought the missus as she makes craft things so was ideal for her to sit on infront of sewing machine, but she doesnt do that stuff much at the moment so i got the stool lol..

its been a work in progress for months, i dont have the luxury to be able have setups like some of you guys, plus i love mess  .. i need to make space outside to do some diy table concocting then i can have a nice setup how i want :)
