You do know you can preview what the Exotic Engrams contain (which change every 5 or so minutes)? Go into your inventory, press Y (from memory) to preview it. It will show what it will decode to. Just wait and it auto updates.

Then decode!

Did the raid last night with a bunch of mates. We had no idea what we were doing as purposely decided to avoid any tutorials first. We worked out the first stage but once we got into that orb running / platform challenge it became a real headache. We almost worked it out but ended up resorting to YouTube in the end. It took us 4 hours though so we had to call it. Does it save your checkpoint?

There are checkpoints but you are at the first one. Also it reset this morning so wouldn't carry over anyway.

Trying to get my power up is doing my head in. My lowest base power is 283 and that's my boots. This game seems to be purposely NOT giving me better boots. Got a powerful and exotic engram, decrypted both and they were both helmets which happens to be my highest level gear

I've just joined the PS4 clan so I'll have to get involved with some fireteams later in the week when I'm free, I agree that the game is more fun with a group. Also, what's the best way to get exotic engrams? Part of a weapon unlock is to decrypt an exotic engram.

Finally making my way to 300, stuck at 292 for the last couple of days. But got some new legendary mods and stuck them on and I’ve jumped 2 levels up to 294 now.

Sorry chap, bad timing, just moved house and without proper internet for a few weeks. Thor and McDaniel et al are playing a fair amount though, drop them a message on XBL, but I know both active XBL groups are over 6 people so you'll have to battle/negotiate for a spot.. or just get lucky with someone dropping out..

While this is true in theory there's been at least a half dozen occasions for me when I've gotten an item that I didn't want, already have, and definitely wasn't on the list.

Well this week's Nightfall is absolutely rock hard. 2 on my team were 300 power and I'm at 292 and we got smashed. Didn't even make it into the last room. Loads of Ogres and Knights that take a billion bullets to kill but kill you in a split second ​

Aye tried it last night with two others from OcUK and got smashed. Started off with prestige and didn't even make it pass the first ogre before we were out of time, the damage needed to take mobs down quick is insane. We then had another run on the lower version and run out of time towards the end, I think we needed to find a quicker path through that allows you to skip as much as possible and save time.

We tried to skip some bits but found out that you needed to kill the Ogres to progress.

Took 1h47m to complete the raid yesterday. If you exclude the time spent finding the chests then it's <90m which was my fastest so far.

Chest piece and leg armour needed to complete the raid set on my Titan.

Should be available post 8pm this week for raids on my Warlock.
