So....which tactic did you go for in first section, the way I see it there were two :
We had a combination of two strategies:

5 of our team went hell for leather, while I followed behind as a Bladedancer, using invisibility to sneak about and revive fallen team mates.

We were all together at the bridge plate at the end, gradually being killed one-by-one. But then two heroes used their self-revive after the bridge fully formed, and proceeded to run across! Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat!

So....which tactic did you go for in first section, the way I see it there were two :

1. Just run hell for leather, pause in the light for just long enough to remove the debuff so you didn't stop running before the next one. I managed to get to the end on my own doing this when the team wiped. Getting a full team to do it will be tricky

2. The slow methodical method, just move steadily between towers, covering all sides, mowing down thralls, stopping to revive and chaining supers

I still reckon method 1 is do-able...but if there are other chests in the door in the first section....I guess 2 is the way

Long winded version of thor's post :D:
We tried a few ways of getting through and didn't even think about chests. We ended up going full on sprint from tower to tower. Write managed to sprint all the way to the platform in one go, he died there but in doing so he'd managed to draw all the thralls to the platform which left the path behind clear for us. A few people died during the way but eventually 2 or 3 of us made it to the enterance and we were able to camp there and wait for everyone else.

The good thing about our run is we had thor on his Bladedancer Hunter sitting far behind us with his invisibility perk, stealth reviving everyone. That perk is super useful in that first section and saved us from wiping a good few times. When we eventually grouped we just charged the platform, dropped bubble shields and despite 4 of us dying by the time the bridge was up, the other two managed to sprint across.

Highlight of the night was getting halfway through the maze and watching deadparrot get pummelled by a Knight which sent him flying across the map back to near the start point :D.

Thanks for the game last night guys.

Had a right laugh!- it's been a while since I've enjoyed this game instead of it feeling like a grind as VoG was just becoming monotonous. So all that raid armour we got from the VoG raid is now a waste of time as we can just buy the vanguard gear to get to Level 31 - meh!

Sieze2, Greeboth and I are already set for our usual Friday Night 8:30 raid. I'll be more than happy to organise and the original team gets first dibs.

Friday 12th December 20:30 Start
1)- Zoomeez - Level 30 Hunter
2)- Sieze2 - Level 30 Warlock
3)- Greeboth - Level 29 Warlock
4)- OweO?
5)- Piphal?
6)- Maxi_Live?

Please let us know asap please fellas so we can get a full team sorted prior to friday, thanks.

Also, In future Pyschosonny - With all due respect, please don't join our fireteam - this isn't the first time you've left us half way through a game and just 'do one'. We already had Maxi_Live waiting but you joined irrespective :(

Yep, I should be around for games!

Yeah I am up for that. If I am fireteam leader we will have the checkpoint. :)

I will double check with Piphal but assume he is in the for the moment please.

I can reach 31 with the kit I now have thanks to my lucky drops yesterday. Starting to think I should just aim for 32 and be done with it instead though. I have light 36, 30,33,33, helmet to boots in that order. What is the maximum light level achievable with that atm?

Level 31 as 32 will require 3 pieces of raid gear and an exotic.

Our method:

That is basically how we did it albeit without the blade dancer (and lots of luck). In the end the bridge formed and I started running. I'm not sure if I was the only one left alive at the end but I did hear calls of "don't look back" and "keep running". Thankfully I didn't get hooked up on anything and got through.

Ha, did anyone else discover than if you take a wrong turn near the end, you can easily drop over a wall and be back at the start point. Managed that at least once.

Must remember to switch my hunter to blade dancer when handing in bounties so I can get that ranked up.

I'll be around for another go on friday now I'm 30, or just a VoG normal with my alt.

Haha. That's exactly how our run ended on the first section. Me, alone, running sprinting the light to trigger the checkpoint. Run Forest! :D

Do you only need one to get through onto the plate?

Do you only need one to get through onto the plate?

Technically yes although one person won't be able to hold the plate long enough for the bridge to form. Once the knights and Ogres appear a single guardian has no chance. Only one person needs to make it through over the bridge though

That's annoying. We had the bridge formed, 5 of us got spanked by the ogre and the last guy was running for the bridge when he died....must have been inches away!

I like the bladedancer doing revives idea. We had got into a pretty reliable rythm with the slow approach, just moving as a unit and mowing down everything and reviving as necessary, you're all being showered in orbs, it's grenade + super-tastic :D

Quoting myself but - Piphal can't make Friday unfortunately. I am still available so we would need a 6th.

I wonder if a Titan's blessing of light (the shield one) on the plate before the Thrall area exit would help?

Question about the first section
I prefer running as a group and only waiting at the lights to remove the weight effect - the adds are slower than you until you get say x8 so actually shooting them just delays progress. Just get the explodey ones an then use supers or grenades to get yourself out of trouble.

Out of curiousity if you fight it out do the enemies stop spawning? Might be worth doing just to get the chance to explore

Assuming it hasn't changed from VoG, everyone gets the checkpoint :) As long as one of us is the fireteam leader you could start from the checkpoint with 5 new people.

I made it across with you though quite some way behind. Seemed to work quite well as it didn't seem too many chased you but I had loads chasing me :(

Nope - as far as we could tell adds spawn constantly. The only time you get some rest bite is being revived far back when someone is still alive right out front. The Thralls attack the guy at the front and "wait" until you get in range.

EDIT: Greboth - Nice on the checkpoint, I didn't know that. :) I wasn't sure it anyone else made it but good to know I wasn't alone. I think at that point one person just needs to run for it whilst everyone else goes down holding the enemies off. If everyone runs then the chances of making it are much lower.

@ps3ud0

I don't think they do, we moved as a team and tried to keep a sub 5x de-buff. All got to the plate at the end, bridge formed with 2 of us left, 1 ran hell for leather and I got to the other side of the bridge and just DPS'ed as much as I could until I died to give the guy a chance to make it through, some LOTR type **** :D
Next part spoiler:

Took us a while but here is the basic tactic: Start 2/2/2 split on mid and the 2 side "totems". Keep control of them to form the bridge (you can move out briefly ~5secs, but make sure someone always stays in each )

Now when the Swordbearer comes, kill him and get a Titan to take the first sword and run across the bridge and use his flashbang grenade + sword to kill the Gatekeeper on the other side (Tip: be quick because the sword has a time limit and don't mess up as only a sword can kill a Gatekeeper and you do NOT want them to stack up on the other side)

Repeat this process until another 2 have gone across with a sword (This is the only way to cross the bridge) and have the person coming across the bridge to call out so that others on the new side can grenade spam the Gatekeeper to stun him so the person with the sword can get an easy kill.

Now you have a 3/3 split, so the 3 on the new side should split 1/1/1 on mid plate and side totems. This then stablises the bridge from the new side (there will be a slight flash) Now the 3 on the old side should be able to move off of their positions and move to mid. They need to keep killing the Swordbearer's, grabbing the sword and running across the bridge. Recommend leaving a Titan with G-Horn last as he will have bubble etc (People on the new side can also snipe across to help out old side.

Then there is an all out battle on the new side so just hold out and kill the orges and wizards etc.

We are now at the next part with the 3 wizards and lots of lvl32 adds. I think the rough tactic we tried was have one guy go left and one go right, while everyone went to the back ledge. The 2 front guys drew out the wizards, everyone shot them with primaries until they died. Then the 2 front guys go back in and G-horn the 2 shriekers. Then, we had the whole team hop (literally constant jumping to avoid melee knights!) into the right side and tried to take out the last wizard. Then we retreat to pick off all the mobs. You have to DPS fast here otherwise the final wizard's kill timer will run out.
