Level 29 would be ideal if you can get there. Just watching this strategy on the Templar section (hardest part I think, on hard mode anyway), http://youtu.be/UNxe1Ewj9z8. Will require a bit of organisation but perfectly doable I reckon.

I ended up doing the raid tonight with a group of yanks I found on DestinyLFG. Everyone knew their stuff so we had the whole thing done inside 2 hours. Got some more raid armour, plenty of shards, and trolled after beating Atheon by getting the bloody ship. When I get my alt high enough I'll do it again and try to get a decent weapon that way.

It's basically a site where people put their GT to seek gamers to do specific mission, raids and weekly.
Level 26 should be OK but you must have a half decent weapon to do damage. 300dmg primary really helped when I did mine.

Ah, problem is getting the marks for that i have been unlucky with my drops thats why i want to do nightfall/raid hoping for some gear lol
