Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Square Enix Reveal new Deus Ex)

Just finished the game, 19 hours total and got the Pacifist achievement, which has to be like the first DE ever to not mess that up.

I enjoyed it overall, it does end super suddenly but with the follow on game in the works I guess I see why.
The hub stuttering really did wind me up though, so id be very weary about buying dlc if it means visiting those areas again.

Also I have no idea why GARM is so overhyped in the game, only for you to go there and it be a massive waste of time and generally level design.

Who over hyped GARM? That was like the most boring level ever! lol

I never had stuttering luckily. Mostly smooth gameplay 35-45fps at 4K for me. Really happy with this 1070. Vega better be good, or I will just wait and get a 1170.

Meh Vega..lately amd are just way behind NV,and if magically vega is good,im quite sure NV has few other "bunnies" in they hat,my last amd card was 7970,and thats it..

About DE - i dont know,i love this game, never had any graphics problems, and after few patches seems i can use some msaa as well now

Don't think it will have anything to do with magic. People just assume AMD will not be able to beat the 1080 for some reason, but wait and see, it will even beat the Titan P. But of course not long after Volta will probably come out and beat that. All will depend on AMDs pricing, if they try and charge too much, people including myself will just wait for Volta.

Anyway, regarding Mankind Divided, same here no issue with graphics and performance from day one, only people crying about that are the ones who want to max it out. Lol. But there are bugs in it for sure.

Even though the game did not meet my expectations overall, I still love it and would rather have played it than any other game that has come out the past few years.

I hope Square Enix learn from the backlash they got and don't meddle with the developers for the next game. They need to understand their target market, every game and audience is diferent. We don't need no breach mode or micro transactions. Don't chop gameplay out of main game to make a bonus DLC... Spend the time and effort on the damn game! Make it a better and longer more satisfying story.

Playing this game very very slowly. I am still only on main mission 3 after about 40 hours. I really like the maps, they are detailed and interesting to explore.

Still enjoying the game though!

Likewise. I'm at 48 hours and have just finished mission 7. I think the game is best played slowly in order to discover all the hidden areas and documents / computers. There is so much that could easily be missed.

Well I completed this with last night after 68.8 hours. I have expressed earlier in the thread that I believe strongly that this IP should be pushed to the fore because I love the lore, look and feel so much...

VERY sad to say that it did not meet my expectations regarding either the main narrative or the general look and feel the hub.

Essentially my feelings seem to mirror some comments here and in the reviews.

I simply think this lady in Charge of the main narrative (for those that have watched the (many) videos she is quite prominent) should be moved aside - she has completely misunderstood the importance of furthering the plot towards something that starts to resemble the immediate events that led up to the first Deus Ex game whilst integrating what we loved about the amazing plot elements and characters of Human Revolution. She has also left me underwhelmed regarding the smaller nature of the main plot certainly by comparison to Human Revolution and the original.

To put that in to context:

1) I wanted to see more NSF story telling with initial events leading up to the Statue of Liberty beheading....

2) Where is Gunther in all this? he was an old style adam Jensen esque Aug and so is presumably operating in this time frame??

3) I like the whole TF29 as a precursor to Manderley setting up UNATCO...but wanted more plot integration like this with some more prominent characters.

4) We know that the next phases of augmentation is the Paul/JC/Walton Simons nano augmentation but we hear nothing (that I can remember) regarding the instigation of this project other than scientific info in the vault leading up to the instigation of this technology in its infancy...I wanted more.

The music was also disappointing - a decent sound track but a shade by comparison to HR and the original. Can't think of one theme in the game I can remember.

the AI is astonishingly bad...retarded, Don't get me wrong - I didn't care in HR and I don't especially care now but in HR is was ignored because the plot was so engrossing along with the music.

Sadly the plot here focuses far too much on a segregation narrative that is certainly relevant but not the main focus...it is, at best, an aside and one of many elements leading to the events of the first game. In Short I feel a 2 year break between games is too short to push things forward. I like the Jensen character but I don't feel the main plot should be curtailed in order to keep him young and fit as the protagonist.

It felt like the main story had segments of illuminati (MJ12?) meetings in it in pre rendered drama to keep it grounded in the lore but that had little to no effect on the main plot.

I may add to this critique later.

Out of curiousity- how do you know that?
There werent even leaked benches.
My assumption is that they lacking engineering power and simple funds to do something like NV does. And NV dont need Volta to beat it - Pascal is hardly utilized at max.NV is simply way ahead and can afford losses if needed in price wars..
Well,thats OF lil bit :)

I had very little time last week,so im not finished yet my 1st playthrough.
Should finish this week, even tho some people already managed to spoil ending in some ways here...

Nearly 2/3rd's through Deus Ex Black Light novel and I have to say I am enjoying the story in the book a lot more than the game, which was not the case at all when I read Icarus Effect. Even though I enjoyed reading Icarus Effect, it was no way near as good as the story of HR. Black Light has been quite a bit better than Icarus Effect for me and for sure I would have enjoyed Mankind Divided a lot more had I read it before playing.

Honestly, Square dropped the ball on this one. Look at how silly their collectors edition of the game is. Only thing in there worth anything is the figure. What they should have done is had the steal case version of the game in it with season pass, the figure, the big art book, the full soundtrack with the extra comics stuff on a USB stick, Black Light book and released it say 1-2 weeks early letting people get in the mood for the game reading and enjoying the game material while waiting for the game to unlock. At £99.99 I would have purchased that for example.

I would have even done something where you provide a small clue or code which the community get together to unravel, like a digital treasure hunt. Something that would either reveal a small secret or something you can use to at some point in the game to enter to find something. Maybe this is just me, but I think that would increase enjoyment, value and therefore sales... Which is what they ultimately want.

I am taking an educated guess going by all the information out there. Just think about it, there was not a huge gap between the two companies two top end products with Fury X and Titan X and that is during a period when Kuduri he himself said AMD were not focused on PC as much and were working on consoles. Now they have refocused on PC with Vega, so that is my guess. We will see I suppose ;)

As for some spoiling the ending, I recall you saying you would not be visiting the forum until you was done playing, so your fault in the end :p

To be honest I felt just reading a review or anything online was a bit a spoiler for me, but I read it and I can only blame myself. I did so well staying away from trailers and game play stuff online for a long while and crumbled at the end. Next game I will not read anything at all until I complete the game.

Finished reading Deus Ex Black Light. If you are a Deus Ex fan I would definitely recommend it. It really helps explain a lot and make the new characters in MD less alien. Really enjoyed it.

Reveal spoiler tag for more info:

Apart from maybe the last 15-20% of it I really enjoyed, but I thought the ending could have been a little stronger. As it is a novel and not a game, it could do with less fighting or fighting scenes that do not drag on for too long.

Notable characters are Jensen, Pritchard, DuClair, DeBeers, Hermann, Miller, Vega and Quinn. Might have let someone slip but those are the ones I remember. Like you get to see Millers USA based counterpart Christian Jarreau.

It is nice to see how Adam gets recruited into the Juggernaut Collective. I think I will enjoy my next playthrough more now.

OK getting into it now, loving the gameplay minus the minor issues. While it does feel like a proper successor to DXHR, it also feels like a step backwards in some areas, the takedowns were better in DXHR.

Currently sneaking through Palisade which is good fun.

Although HR wasn't the groundbreaking game the original Deus ex was, I thoroughly enjoyed playing through it.

So I take it this new game is worth buying?

It definitely is. Many bugs have been fixed already. Though it is reported that the game does experiences some random crashes still now and then.

DX12 support comes in this week also, probably in the next couple of days.

Even though as a Deus Ex fan it did not quite live up to my expectations (mainly story wise), it is still better than anything else I have played in a long time. It was a lot of fun. HR was better for story and maybe locations I would say, rest is better or much better in MD. Oh and I agree, take downs were better on HR too. Currently on my 3rd playthrough :D

If you have performance issues, either look on this thread or ask and I will tell you a very balanced setting for good performance.

Really enjoying this.....its actually strangely getting me really excited for Cyberpunk from CDProject red.....as its that similar vein of story based RPG, with a main protagonist, but with CDproject magic from the Witcher!

Indeed! :D

Even though it will not be Deus Ex, I get the feeling gameplay, graphics etc wise Cyberpunk will likely be a better game. Apparently CDproject have got even more people working on it compared to Witcher 3 so it bodes well for us :D

My guess is it won't be out until 2018, but I would rather wait and for it to be a huge awesome game. I think they have been working on it since 2012, but recently stepped things up :)

Indeed....The Witcher 3 is one of my favourite games of all time...including all the DLC......so that quality of story telling and open world RPG gaming in a Cyperpunk futuristic setting from one of the best devs out there.....oh my days!:eek:

Why is the mouse sensitivity so completely insane on a game in 2016? I turned it down in-game to ZERO and it’s still stupidly too fast (and I normally play at a high sensitivity).
