Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Square Enix Reveal new Deus Ex)

I had a somewhat random thought last night while playing the game. Is it ever explained exactly why there are an inordinate amount of amputees in the DE universe? I can accept that some of them have been enhanced purposefully, ie military operatives and some of the criminal factions, but surely that only equates to a small percentage of the population?

Many of those we see with prosthetics are seemingly normal members of the public. On the occasions we are told how a person became disabled (usually throught reading the disocverable ebooks or emails), 9/10 it is due to accident / illness. Taking that in to account ,are we to assume the DE populace is just deeply unlucky?;) Just a thought.

That's true, the other thing I don't get is why everyone with a prosthetic leg wanders around with one trouser leg missing. Considering the aggressive prejudice, a decent pair of trousers and another shoe would go a long way to making these peoples lives easier.

There's a few ton here who finished the game in 17 hours, you must be rushing through the game and skipping dialogue, bragging rights.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm at 65 hours and have been exploring everything, but at the same time not taking it ridiculously slow. I'm playing at the same pace I did in HR and that took me 42 hours to get through. I just can't see how it would be possible to discover everything this game has to offer in only 17 hours. As with all DE games, exploration is highly rewarding and often opens up side quests that would otherwise be overlooked.

Definitely not playing it right if you are done with the game in 17 hours. That means very little exploration done, just main missions and side quests. It also means the person was probably running from quest marker to quest marker.

My first playthrough was around 40-50 hours. Second playthrough where I did main missions only was about 6-7 hours. Third playthrough I completed everything and did even more exploration (mainly in Prague/Arc) and that was another 30 hours or so. Got total 90 hours on my steam clock but that includes playing some breach, benching and messing around. So it is fair to say I got my money's worth :D

I found 2-3 hidden areas on my third play through, also a few balcony's I had missed. Pretty confident I have found majority of things at this point, at least in Prague which I heavily explored. For me Prague was easily the most fun to explore. After that you have so much stuff that exploration does not feel as rewarding towards the second half of the game.

There is no way you could experience all the content in this game in 17 hours. Everyone's different, some people just want to blast through games asap. I feel they are missing out on a lot of content in games like this though.

I'm over 40 hours in on about M5 or 6 I think.

Surprised this has not been posted. A very good/funny review, very entertaining to watch. Warning, only watch if you have completed the game ;)

I just bought this finally after finishing with Metal Gear. I'll play it alongside Bioshock.

...For some reason I had a download size much smaller in my mind. It is going to take ages to download!

Edit - the recap video is really good. I only got through about half of my HR replay last month and this was great!

Played a few hours. Impressed with how it plays compared to HR. Seems a lot smoother. Looks and runs great too. Lip syncing is a bit poor though.

I still despise the mele combat(or lack of it) too. I just don't understand how they could think it is good...no other game does it like this, and for good reason! At least fall damage and sprinting is a bit more realistic now though.

Also had one CTD.

Ah I envy you sir. Experiencing it for the first time :D

Got so say, I do not have an issue with the melee combat, what annoyed me about it is how long it takes to trigger the cut-scene. It takes too long and crates a disconnect. Sometimes it would take as long as 2-3 seconds from the time you press Q and you are left all

Same thing with the Icarus Landing System. The cut scenes are messed up. You jump, nearly landed, then cut-scene triggers and shows you jumping from top again, so you see the jump twice. Was not like that in HR from what I recall. Considering I have a good SSD this should not be happening. Like a lot of people had issues with levels loading on subway, mine were pretty fast :D

HR also had better take-down animations. Loved the one where Jensen grabs the guys head and spins it.

I've played about 4 hours now and I think the game shows so much promise...but in the back of my mind i am hearing all of the comments about how badly, and how abruptly the story ends and it is kind of putting a downer on it tbh. I wish it wasn't but it is unfortunately.

The level of detail in the actual game world is excellent.

One thing I'm finding awkward though is the map in the tube stations that you use to move between areas. Could be a bit clearer tbh.

This happened with me also. Wish I stayed away from forums and reviews. Next time I will be doing that. That said, if I never knew that and it ended the way it did I would be proper :mad::eek:

At least now you know, don't rush the main missions. Easily 40 hours of gaming there. 60 if you really explore everything maybe, so just enjoy that. There is a lot of fun to be had ;)

By the way, was you playing Enderal before this? How long did that take you to complete? Might continue playing that in a couple of weeks time :)

That's right. Really great game with an epic story. I was very impressed with it. It took me just over 78 hours, and I don't usually do a hell of a lot of 'off the beaten path' exploring either.

Thanks man. Will definitely be playing it. Seems they fixed the issues I had with it on release, so I am happy to continue. Love the Fallout style lock picking they added :)

Oh and once you complete Mankind Divided, do watch that video I put up. It is hilarious when you know what they are referring to.

Is the ending for this game better HR?

I preferred HR's ending to be honest. It is not awful, but could be have been much better IMO.

Would not let that stop you from buying and enjoying the game though, overall a lot of fun :)
