Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Square Enix Reveal new Deus Ex)

Now that I got my CTD issue sorted and can play longer than 20 minutes at a go before losing progress I'm really starting to enjoy myself.

Lost about 3 hours last night without even noticing, which is a great sign of a good game with me :)

Enjoying the game very much. It improves on HR in pretty much every way so far. It still isn't as smooth as I would want, but it is smoother... Tbh though, I think Dishonored is as good as this type of game can get, so it had spoiled everything else!

I thought the characters seem quite strong tbh. I've seen some complaints that the supporting cast is weak but I'm not feeling that myself so far...i would have liked more returning characters from HR though.

Edit - the level of detail in The Utulek Complex is off the charts!

Not every way

#characters #storyline.

+1

Those are my main complaints and why the game ultimately did not live up to my expectations. Characters and storyline are critical parts of Deus Ex in my opinion.

I have faith that Eidos Montreal will nail the next game though.

I really like the story and characters so far. Feels a lot more like Deus Ex than HR did to me(the whole game does)...probably because we are getting closer to DE in time and more familiar things are cropping up a bit more. Also the level design.

The story is less focused than HR for sure, but I find it more intriguing. Not saying it's better or worse, but more interesting to me. (worth noting I have not finished the game so I can't comment on the story as a whole)

Also, I am hoping to see a few more locations soon tbh.

I have faith that Eidos Montreal will nail the next game though.

I have even more faith in Square Enix to not let them! They'll probably release it in installments, and the ending will be a preorder bonus.

Edit - I had to laugh. I just did a bit where someone contacts you to say thay 'you won't believe this but the guy you are looking for is in Prague!'... No, I can totally believe it. I'm not gonna be going anywhere else am I:(

About 50 hours in, just arrived at Golem City – very impressed with it. Sneaking around the police station is good fun. So much to explore and loot – I don’t see how anybody could possible find all the collectibles in this game without the smart vision – there is so much to find!

I was very disappointed overall in the game.

It felt like they missed an opportunity to really show the oppression Augs were purported to be facing, the characters just didn't make me care about them, and Jensen really seemed flat and one dimensional.

The talking scenes also really seemed poorly done; awkward body movements and no real apparent reaction to what was being said.

The ending was poor; I'm all for leaving something open for the next game - an obvious step in todays move to monetise even more, but it just felt flat and poor. The end boss was a massive let down.

Still; excited that we're getting close to where Deus Ex starts, and what that could mean. Including my belief that Janus is something to do with TT.

Finished game without killing anyone 39 hours i think mostly all side quests finished maybe missed 1 , great game few crashes but not to many , ending lacking something like an ending  .

edit: still far away from original

I discovered something new / strange last night. If you visit the theatre in the red light district, there is a terrace of houses that sits in front of the main entrance. The one at the far end has a balcony and a room that can be accessed. Not much in it, however if you stand in the back left corner of the room and activate your vision augmentation, an entrance is highlighted. No idea how to get to it though.

Oooo well I'm going to have a look. I like secrets.

10-1 it's the BFG storage room.

Played my first few hours today and I am so chuffed. Was holding off until they sorted out the DX12. Plays really nice, just enabled exclusive full screen and ramped the hz up to 120 and it's lovely. Just as good as HR and that says something, perfect.
Had a glitch on one side mission, Golden Ticket. Thug and cop in too close proximity to each other to save Edward. Just chucked a crate at the thug, he got mad and and started shooting me, cop shoots him dead. Job done. :D

Once I got this game performing well I am loving it now. Gorgeous game and a wonderfully detailed world. Excellent exploration game. Still in Golem playing as a stealth ninja assassin.

I have noticed that some of the people I takedown seem to be dead afterwards, even before I shoot them in the head – has anyone else noticed this? The only thing I can think is that it is from throwing their unconscious body. Happened at least twice, but I wouldn’t have thought that would kill them. I could see people trying for Pacifist getting caught out by this.

I was caught out by this very late into the game. I was trying a pacifist run and thought I was succeeding, until I revisited a part of the map where I thought I'd knocked out an npc, only to find them dead. Correcting it would have meant going back nine hours.

finished my first run though being as stealthy as poss (the real way to play it).
I'm now going again but being as nasty as possibly, shooting everyone and anything. As many innocent civilians as possible too. It's actually quite hard (morally in real life not in game)
Makes a nice change trying to kill and hide all the police too. Adds an extra challenge.

Just reading the description of the dlc System Rift.

so you have to break in to the palisade bank... I've already done that twice in the base game!... Is this going to be just some throwaway side quest?

I completed the game last night after 89 hours. I still got the Pacifist achievement despite thinking I'd killed someone. The story ended just like I imagined and lined it up very nicely for the conclusion. I truly milked the game for everything it had. My absolute only disappointment was that I didn't manage to find all of the ebooks, which I honestly thought I had.

I've already started another play-through, in which I intend to massacre everyone I can. I'm three Praxis (Praxi?) away from being fully augmented, so bring on the chaos:D

I have done it many times. Lol. But I would assume the DLC version will be a different branch. If same branch then it will be epic fail. Lol. If different one, I don't mind, I will probably enjoy it as long as the rest of the DLC is good.

Going to avoid the forum for a week as I won't have the time to play it until next weekend.
