DFI Infinity i975X, Gibbo? :)

ES DFI bords are out and one of each of the 3 are on there way here to me

975x is the last Intel chip they will make, now it's upto Nivida and ATI directly like AMd ooo bye bye

All overlcock on Conore have ran a benchmark stress. Prime or SP2004, mainly SP2004 for the quad runing of it. All 3d test are heavy, they are just as stressfully as prime etc, they alone test the system to the max. Conore is an amazing cpu for GFX surport.

Conore will do 3.5/3.7ghz on air, my E6700 Es did 3.7 air. Basic Vapo LS got me 4.5ghz but my mobo was dieing at the time and heled me back. Current OC is a massive imporment on the 4.5 and will scare the shizzl out of you let alone whats happing latter on this week

Thats what I'll be doing, anyone know if these motherboards are also good for overclocking of the 805 with all its power and heat issues. Last board I tried was warping by .1v vcore :o
Iam only thinking DFI because they been so good in the past for the really tricky stuff

Well, set mine up today but no joy.

All I get is the power LED on the case blinking at me, no post. All fans power up and I can hear it resetting if I press the appropriate button. :( any ideas?

I'm back down to out of the case with nothing extravagant plugged in, still no joy :(

I reckon its either the board, or the PSU (which powers my other system fine). Some people seem to think it could be that the PSU isn't man enough. It wouldn't be the first time a DFI board of mine has disagreed with an Enermax PSU.

Tried a new PSU, the board is dead :( maaaaaan.
Did you use an ATX2.0 or higher PSU & plug the additional 4/8 pin connectors onto the mobo as some do not work without these being plugged in.

Yep, I've got an Enermax Liberty 500W & Tagan 530W Modular. So these have the 8pin 12v EPS thingy. Plugged that, an extra floppy cable (for stability) and the 24pin ATX in. No joy. Then tried with just a 4pin 12v job (as apparently this still works according to the manual). :(

I thought my Asus P5W was DOA , rang oc for an RMA etc even bought a bad axe in the meantime. I give it one more go the other day put put my gfx card in a different slot and off it went.

Do you have a conroe to put in your DFI ?

what ram are you using?

From what I gather the board is still picky with certain ram, try using only 1 stick of ram in the various slots. I think a new bios is already out on the DFI site, obviously you need the board to boot first..
