** Diablo 4 Thread **

Well, if we are being real here, everything you said is subjective rather than absolute. I , for instance, got way more longevity out of playing Diablo than I did playing PoE (over 1000 hours in Diablo compared to just over 500 in PoE). Equally you cant really berate Blizzard monetisation and then in the next sentence state that you cant play PoE properly without spending MTX for tabs as thats contradictory. As I've said before though in the thread, there really is no need for any debate on Diablo V PoE, its just another of those pointless Playstation v Xbox, Spectrum v Commodore, Marvel v DC types of arguments that crop up all over the place, they are different games aimed at different audiences, to compare the two is like trying to have a Battlefield v Escape to Tarkov or World of Warcraft v Ultima Online debate. Games which are of a similar genre but done with different mechanics and different target userbase. Theres not really any reason why any player couldnt own both titles and get enjoyment out of both titles

You can as POE is a FTP game, which has added content for 12 years at no extra cost. So there's a huge difference really. D3 wasn't an ongoing game, it was a one-off with a paid expansion.

Once I played a fully kitted out ww barb in d3 I could barely be bothered to play it. Same for d2 remastered, except I didn't even bother taking it much further past completion. If I try d4, I feel like I'll also have to play ww barb. Everything else just feels like hard work or I don't like the abilities/style.

Like I've said 3 times in the thread, the games are different enough that theres no need to make it a versus debate, no reason why any gamer couldnt own both PoE and Diablo (as I do) and simply play whichever one they want to play at any given point. PoE has its pros and its cons, Diablo has its pros and its cons, neither game is the best game in the ARPG (and I use "rpg" in its loosest sense) genre by a head and shoulders and both games sit happily in any gamers collection.

Fair enough. I'll be playing D4, no doubt.

Multi shot demon hunter is extremely fun and rewarding.

that is correct, the best ARPG is Grim Dawn. :p
I could never get on with it, even though I loved their first game, Titan Quest. I found it too slow, which is strange because I usually prefer that style of ARPG. I never gelled with PoE for a variety of reasons ( economy mechanics, convoluted skill tree, fast and flashy gameplay ). Diablo 2 and Titan Quest remain my favourites within the genre ... there have been so many false dawns, in my opinion. Hopefully D4 won't be, but my trust in Blizzard is at an all time low. That said, I've given in to temptation and pre-ordered so I can access the early open beta.

Tried quite a few classes and builds including that, all hard work compared to holding mostly 1 mouse button travelling across distance at reasonable speed with reasonable damage. It's like you can do more dps, especially single target but for the difference in effort, it's not worthwhile.

You spam Vault with your side mouse button, and use 1/2/3 for the other skills including mouse. How is that hard work? :D not worthwhile? it's probably the most entertaining, fun and build/class in Diablo 3. This is why many people run it.

There's a bit more to the latest version of WW barb now than just holding 1 mouse button if you want to push the solo GR leaderboard at least.

There are lazy builds for every class now if you're just farming T16.

Holding 1 mouse button must be the most boring and unsatisfying experience ever. I like to be able to think and co-ordinate my attacks and use other skills properly. I mean, that's what they're there for.
