Correct, isntead of making the game players wanted - a POE sequel, they made a different game that they wanted, they're going to have to reverse course on that I think.
Ruthless was the worst thing to ever happen to Path of Exile.
And in truth, they didn't really need another game.
You just described every ARPG ever made unfortunately, they are very similar to MMORPG's in that yes its the same thing over and over

Yeah, I tried grim Dawn as well and I was like I’ve played this game already and then yeah, moved on.
Same can be said for many genres. It really boils down to whether you find the repetition ( of a game loop ) engaging or not. For example, I find ARPGs relaxing in a mindless sort of way, but can't stomach playing survival / builder games eg. Valheim.
I did enjoy it for a good amount of hours for sure. There’s been a lot of new content since so maybe I just reached a natural lull in the game back then.
Somehow.. Lilith Returned. I suppose nobody ever dies in the Diablo world. Looking good.
It's the Blizzard way unfortunately they never replaced their good 'known' villains with decent ones so the new ones fall flat, similar to how after Arthas in WoW it's never hit the same mark.
I agree on this, Diablo 4 is all very weird to me with its lack of the titular character. Its like The Bourne Legacy with no Bourne
Very much agree. Feels very odd playing a series where the main antagonist has been on vacation for the last 14 years. No, because people are paying £80 for a ‘premium’ DLC.
I wouldn’t mind playing again tbh now I’d have 3? Expansions of extra content which would negate the repetition a bit.

Two expansions once the new season hits at the end of this month. But yes, if you last played the game at launch the amount of content on offer has increased considerably. There are still flaws eg. end game, class balance and, of course, still no Mr Diablo !
Oh only two? I swear I swear loads of stuff but maybe that was names of seasons or something. It says significant gameplay changes with expansion so I guess no point playing until it releases if a load of stuff will change. Though maybe that will mainly affect the new content.
I foolishly (wanted the mount for wow)purchased the premium edition on launch and it came with some pass thing I never used and then it disappeared lol. Not sure why passes are needed along with seasons and expansions but guessing it’s mostly cosmetic stuff.

Each season brings some new ideas / gameplay, but they're not considered official expansions or DLC. A few of the seasons have brought radical changes eg. 4 months back in anticipation of this latest expansion. If you're interested in trying the game again I'd suggest starting on the 28th April which is when the new season / expansion launches.
edit. And yes, the battle passes are for cosmetic rewards only. There is a basic free one which acts a guide for steering you through the latest seasonal narrative and gives you some cosmetics on completion. You can pay to upgrade the battle pass for "better" cosmetics ( subjective, I know ! ) but you can easily ignore that if it holds no interest.

Blizzard are the masters of suckering people into paying for mounts. How many mounts are actually in WoW now? Must be a few 100 by now !
