Diesel engine testing

It's not really the injection time thats the problem, more the burn time. This can be speeded up with higher injection pressures / advanced strategys but it still is limited by the fuel.

because they failed... i'd be upset to after spending ages designing a motor made to last 100000m and then it doesnt...

back to the drawing board for them guys then.

honda do a similar test on their motorbike engines - 24hr red line test. its not a matter of it passes or not, but by how much as they have tolerences to work to. any failure and its a redesign. explains a lot about hondas reliability and why they can never design a decent cam chain tensioner.
