Diets - Macros and Calories, what do you really need?

Lol it's hardly over thinking something when it doesn't take much thinking :) its all about preference really as will have a limited impact how you work things put. For me I like to use pre cooked macros as I think it's more accurate :)

Can't, sorry.

Too busy thinking about 1mm of incorrect positioning in my squat form bro.

That's more like it :D

But Syla, it isn't over thinking to decide how you want to base your macros, it is however over thinking when you start spending the best part of a day discussing it and the reasons behind it

Not sure about but took me about 2 mins to work out the potential impacts, sup with the brainwork out brah, been slacking?

Steedie,

I may have the wrong person here, but I believe you have sorted out a few diets for some people on here? Would you mind if I had to trust you and give me some pointers etc?

Potential impacts?!! Seriously dude... what impacts?!

I understand that you're getting passionate about this - that's great. And working out and monitoring what you're eating is great.

However, to the minutiae of detail you're going into REALLY isn't necessary. Spend that extra time in the gym ;)

I love how everyone thinks I am worried about it because I worked out the potential differences over a week of using cooked vs uncooked macros. Over a week 1k cals can be the difference between someone cutting weight and someone maintaining weight, so actually it's not an insignificant difference for some.

You'd have to be ridiculous to mess up enough to be 1k calories over the course of a week though, if you're that simple you can't cook chicken properly or enough to know what you're eating, you should probably just stay out of the gym as well, heaven knows what that person would manage with heavy equipment around

Chicken thighs from Asda are terrible, they end up swimming in water when cooked in the oven, I swear 20% of the weight is skin too.

Get the deboned ones. Skinless and boneless. Much better for working out weight anyway.

Out of interest, why does everyone tend to go for chicken breast rather than thighs anyway?

Also, for food prep, how far in advance do people tend to cook their rice?

And cooked or uncooked macros on carbs? :p

kd

I just get breast because it's easier I guess, that and I prefer it.

With regards to rice, I used to cook it on the sunday for the week ahead, but just do it in the mornings now
