I'd love Infinity Ward to make a public announcement regarding this whole incident, but I'm very glad that the community is speaking up. I can't believe that it's effected Activision's shares though, unbelievable.

I don't know if it will have had any real impact on share prices yet, but I'm pretty sure it will. We PC users are the obvious minority true, but when the game fails to meet estimates (even if they only bring in a couple million $ less), investors will want to know why.

This is unbelievable!
This is just a money grabbing ploy to try and get us to buy the map packs!

The lag this will create is just stupid! and I take it this means we will be stuck to the same player limit as consoles? wtf

I am downloading this unless they change their minds, Im not going to buy it for a gimped multiplayer.

Would love to be a fly on the wall in the boardroom at the time:

"Well, what happened"

"We decided to screw over a loyal fanbase of a few million people, they told us they didnt like it but we ignored them"

"Your Fired, get out............. Someone get Treyarch on the phone"

For anyone worried about a similar thing happening for Bad Company 2, good news!

PC gamers have reacted with horror to Infinity Ward's decision to cut mod and private server support from Modern Warfare 2, and now DICE has entered the fray.

The executive producer for the Battlefield series has vowed on his Twitter that DICE will continue to back hard-core PC gamers the hilt: "Dedicated servers F T W. What ever secures a better online experience is a given for us."

It's amazing how much power the internet has. Something like this can snowball into significant damage to a company in a matter of days. Be afraid!

So how can you even tell if the share price is going to go down beyond its natural rate of fluctuation? So far any drop in share price shown by that website is before the news, and activision is bigger than just MW2, so may not be effected much at all.

Have pitchforks, will witch hunt and all that :)

I just made a comment that the share price was going down, which it has been.

I don't understand the "I'm downloading this because they've upset me" vibe...
Why get it at all? If it's not got what you want then don't download it and don't buy it.
If you still want to play the singleplayer then either buy it for full retail or just wait until the price drops out and buy it then.

Far too many tantrums going on. It sucks but... You don't have to pirate the game, you'd be making a better point by not buying/playing it.

Wow, wonder if it will have an effect when its released. Imagine if something like battlefield 3 was on the horizon to steal its thunder...

Really unsure what to do about this now, this was the only thing left this year after OF2, the SP game will last 6/7 hours and the MP was what I was really after, will the lack of being able to pick your server really kill this, what will kill it for me was wanting to join a new clan to game with :(

Well said the mentality of some people is silly. It is not good enough to buy yet it is to pirate:confused::mad:

Cancelled my pre-order too :(

The petition is pointless, I'm sure I read that it they could not implement dedi server support now even if they wanted to? Signed it anyway :p

no the petition provide a very good purpose, for when they blame piracy less than expected sales a journalist can throw the tens of thousands of cancelled preorders and boycotter's in their face :)
