Oh if you lot havnt played the original CoD and CoD UO singleplayers you should, they are off the scale for immersion. CoD2 was rubbish compared.

CoD4 SP was immense but didnt last very long at all.

CoD1 and UO SP are actually very hard and take quite a while to complete :)

Ah that level in UO where you had to assault the town and in doing so crossing a field, they even made that part easier with a patch :D

Wow um, is that the assault on foy? The winter campaign, forget what its called. That was based off band of brothers i think :p

Haha didnt know they patched that lmao.

I want to play them again now :D

That's the one, almost identical to a part in Band of Brothers ;)

Here are the readme notes for the 1.5 patch:

SINGLE PLAYER ENHANCEMENTS
- Adjusted AI behavior in Kharkov2
- Improved objective updates in Kharkov2
- Adjusted the difficulty of crossing the beginning field in Foy
- Improved voice over triggers in Sicily1
- Updated player objectives when facing German PT boats on Sicily2
- Improved AI interaction in Kharkov1

Identical even down to the same size haystack, and the bloke cowering behind one getting blown up if my memory serves me correct!

That was fun before the patch, you just got shelled so many times it was pure luck that got you to that first bit of cover... really built the tension up having to re-do it until you finally made it!

what was your in game name in uo mark?

Completed WaW the other day and I honestly thought it was very bland. The WW2 setting is officially (for me) now very long in the tooth. I loved COD2 to bits and always preferred the WW2 setting but after WaW I just got bored of it.

I also didn't like WaW's mutliplayer, much prefer COD-COD2 for that.

What will WaW2 bring to the table that the past series hasn't done before?

I haven't even played the SP. MP is where it's at!

WTF? That article doesn't mention anything about pre-orders for the PC specifically!

They will lose sales on the PC version, to think they won't is retarded. To think they care is also probably a little stupid.

182,000 and counting :D = £6,368,180 less some marketing costs and it's still a fair wad of [easy] cash IW could have made...

Found this which is quite amusing as it was published by DICE :p

EDIT: oh dear this as well from IW, sorry if it's a repost, i looked a few pages back http://www.destructoid.com/iw-responds-to-mw2-petition-servers-capped-at-9v9-154091.phtml

No the petition is

Get Infinity Ward to review their decision not to allow fully dedicated servers for their forthcoming game release CoD:MW2. Remember that this Call of Duty was made popular by PC Gamers who have supported the series throughout.

The petition mentions nothing about boycotting the game.

Not to mention the number of fraudulent votes.

Also you seem to be judging IW's losses from the retail price, which is no where near what IW/activision gets paid for each game by the shop.

It's no where near 6million in costs to activision/IW, probably not even half that.

I don't play cod4:MW MP anymore, only WAW which i still think is brill.
I prefer MW sp mode to WAW though.
Both too short though for me. So with MW2 SP touted as only about 6 or so hours...... ****that!

Yesterday's developer chat hosted by BestBuy has revealed more bad news regarding the PC version of Modern Warfare 2, which will hit the stores in under a week from now. After Infinity Ward's new multiplayer model and their decision not to incorporate dedicated servers lead to a massive discussion across the various community forums, the results of yesterday's chat session will no doubt put more fuel on the fire.

In a community chat session with Mackey McCandlish, Ryan Lastimosa and Vince Zampella of Infinity Ward it has become apparant that there will be no console in Modern Warfare 2, stating "we would like you to play the game the way we designed and balanced it" when asked about the possibility to change the fov, remove perks and graphical debris and tweak the weapons for further balance.

You said IWnet was created to help stop piracy, what do you say about the Xbox 360 version leaked and shared on torrent sites?

Vince-IW: IWnet was designed to make the MP experience on PC easier and more balanced.

Totally unrelated answer !,

Please give me a direct answer. On the PC version. Are all games hosted by players, and is there a 5 second delay when host migration is in effect?

Vince-IW: yes.

LMAO

I'm getting fed up of console owners moaning about the fact the PC community is moaning (mostly via Twitter), without really understanding why we are upset!

A lot of it seems to be aimed at the "snobbish" PC gamers who look down on console owners for gaming on inferior hardware, rather than the whole PC community. After all this boycott talk I wouldn't be suprised if the next CoD becomes a console-exclusive "due to piracy" if IW decide they don't want the PR hassle.

No doubt it'll kick off again when the DLC starts coming out for £20 a time rather than free download that PC gamers are used to that console gamers seem to be happy to accept.
