Been awhile since i checked on the situation, im guessing nothing much has been said or done to fix the problem then?
Has anyone smart figured out what IW or their publisher are supposed to gain by all this then?
It can't be to sell a few pathetic little map packs can it? surely not as i honestly can't believe that's the reason even though i might suspect it is, trouble for them is that would have never worked out on the pc anyway, so it seems to me like its all been for nothing, or if maybe control, although i don't see what they get out of limitations and locking down control to them, would be interesting to see the details behind this at some point.

So is the whole COD series been a waste of time and a dull experience and there are better FPS on the market now that it doesn't have dedi servers?
well they made over 10 million on map packs for WaW and MW1 each!
So with this system i bet they can make them controlled and authenticated ie someone couldn't just distribute the map pack anyway as every time they connect to IWnet it will check if they have a new key or something for the map pack.
the removal of mod tools and compatibility also stops someone just taking the maps and repacking them as custom maps.
DLC is very lucrative business.
Is it on the pc though?
I know many fools part with their money on consoles but i thought pc gamers were a bit smarter than that, i hate that people even on the consoles pay for this tripe as in the long run it only hurts the rest of us, one day will end up paying for games like mw2 in levels priced at £5 or more each, guns and silly extras may end up costing us to use, remember bad company or something a while back, yeah...

Even if you didn't catch on that it's an obvious windup then the joypad/controller icon on screen kinda makes it obvious it's not from the PC.

Hmm. I was defending the changes earlier but lets face it, this PC version is a bit of a joke. No console, no lean, no kicking people (which means the PC version will be infested with cheaters) I'd get the console version if you want to get the game.
