Just to say I find this pic quite funny:

How many players are finding this?

none at all been playing most of the afternoon and not once had a problem:D

Everyone who plays should do some background downloading, i know many can't resist boycotting so do the next best thing and generally make the game laggy and unplayable, you can have fun messing around while waiting for dedicated server support to come, what do you think, great idea or what? :p

No.. You want to be uploading some 5Gb ISO to someones FTP site :)

Or seed the COD:MW2 torrent.. LOL - Irony?

To be honest, having spent a while watching streams of pepople playing the online game I do like the look of it. The sp campaign clocking in at under five hours doesnt interest me but mp is looking fun.

I know the lower player limits are something of a backwards step but I think Id prefer that. Should hopefully bring the pace of the game down a little from the frantic spawn/sploe/spawn cycles that were common place on some of the smaller CoD4 maps.

Despite all of that Im still finding it hard to get passed the no dedi servers debacle. In pretty much ever shooter ive played i get used to the communities within my favourite servers and i think id really miss that.

Its hard to know what to do for the best, buy it and let IW get away with crapping on us or not buy it and give them all the reason they need to justify cutting PC support in future.

I wonder if Treyarch will follow in the same footsteps?

Will be interesting.
Yep, that's a good point.

For a long time now, the majority opinion has been that Infinity Ward > Treyarch.

This could be a good time for Treyarch to take note of the backlash and make the most of the opportunity for their next game.. I'm sure if they were to keep dedicated servers etc it would please lots of fans. That's if Activision would let them do that.

Treyarch seem to pretty much tow the line with their CoD products, I'd be very surprised if their next title doesnt also have exactly the same mp setup.

I'm sure I read Mackey-IW say "Our goal is to ban hackers from the game"? Now that we don't have dedicated servers how do you kick cheats?

Sup?

I posted this in another thread but I'll post my thoughts on IWNet here, plus a couple extra I have added from the last couple of days.

+ Very very fun to play
+ Haven't encountered serious lag
+ Matchmaking works surprisingly well
+ Map design is awesome, 10 times better than COD 4 and 5 times better than WAW
+ LOADS of action, loads of unlocks, it's brilliant. Perks not as overpowered as I thought they might be
+ Never felt like player numbers were low, and this was a big concern of mine. In fact I played an 8v8 the other day and it felt a little too busy, the action was bloody intense. This is probably down to the map design. There is one level which felt a bit big but I was only in a 5v5 game. 9v9 would have fit it well.
+ In about 40 matches I've only encountered a host migration maybe 3 times
+ Very very easy to party up with friends and it always puts you on the same team which is pretty good
+ Either everyone is crap or I'm good, because I seem to be topping the scoreboards 8 times out of 10 :p

- It's still not a dedicated server, and I'm going to miss playing with random regulars on community servers
- I like to see my ping in numbers please
- I miss lean
- Had a few moments where I have been round a corner of a solid object and still been hit, or throwing nades being a split second delayed, hardly anything, but it just feels a little odd at times.
- Host migration, whilst seemingly rare, is a little annoying when you're engrossed in an intense game

IF you've bought it, you're basically saying that you want PC gaming to fail and to be consolefied.

Have fun with your overpriced, at launch, DLC, content which in the past has been free and watered down gameplay.

No constitution some people.

What about the hackers? I see its already hit MW2 on the PC and Activison are removing any posts on youtube they come across.

Cheat / Hack Free Games: The biggest benefit of using IWnet by far is the fact that you don’t have to worry about joining a server full of aim-bots, wallhacks, or cheaters. Or relying on the server admin of the server to constantly be monitoring, banning, and policing it. Modern Warfare 2 on PC allows us to control the quality of the game much more than ever before as well as utilizing the VAC (Valve-Anti-Cheat) system to keep games clean of hackers and cheaters.

No, I'm not. What a retarded statement to make.

I've read this sentence a few times now but it still makes no sense whatsoever.
