Dipped head lights question

i always have my sidelights and front fog lights on it looks so cool !!!!!111:D

just kidding:rolleyes:

never use sidelights, waste of time imo, but headlights go on in rain ect

I have my headlights on 100% of the time in winter, because it's either dull out or the sun is low. In either of these conditions its far easier to see a car with headlights on.

My rule

Sidelights/Dipped on in the early hours of the morning then when I drive home at dusk.

Headlights when I go out at night.

Since I put these Osram Nightbreakers in I've had a few people flashing me when I've had my dipped headlights on.

Yet my headlights are properly aligned and legal.

 :o

I have mine on all the time. Helps you stand out just a tiny bit more which could prevent an accident from even happening at all.

Good for you but not helpful to the cyclist behind you who cannot be seen due to the glare of your lights

They are there for reason, drivers just have to learn how to use them. Somebody in Road Safety Divsion was trying to get the DSA to put a possible question or two in the driving test. :D

Ok valid points, where is your data to back up your last comment please?

Thanks

Sorry, it was something which came up when looking at increasing the spec for road marking to take into account the general increase in veiling luminance.

I've got some night breakers on my focus too. I've had to turn the little dial thing that controls how high they point down a bit....

AFAIK that is only used when you have a heavy load in the boot. Therefore should be at 0 in normal situations :)

im generally one of the first to turn em on when its getting dark.

also turn them on when on a motorway and constantly meeting idiots who dont see you...

to add to that post, the other day i nearly hit a clio because it was "chav'ed up" and had blue main beems that i didnt see AT all... they wasnt putting hardly any light out, so pulled out infront of him... i stopped just in time though.

today i also saw a astra with the same style lights. surely its illegal to mod your lights so they dont put out any light? i dunno how he was seeing anything....
