What is with the forced AA in 10.1 etc? To purposley cripple framerates or to make games look good and say it's becuase of dx10.1 when it's really because they have forced the card to use higher settings?
Welcome to the world of eDRAM my friend. :)

Well I'm sticking with my 7950GX2 till the 9800GTX is out. I think upgrading now for a couple of crappy DX10 games is a waste of money. (Lost Planet anyone?)

Crysis hopefully looks like the real deal, can't wait!

Hopefully I shouldn't have to upgrade the CPU, maybe get a Quad as they coming down in price a lot.

the 8800 series at least provided top directx 9 performance - the muppets might turn out to be the ones who bought the 8600gt/s and 2600xt

although the 8800gtx is waste of money unless you have a monitor to go with it for directx 9 games

mmmmm people are muppets who bought the 8600gt/s and 2600xt?? i gonna laugh at that..

i bought 2 2600xt's and im very happy with it. i won't be upgrade just to get dx10.1 its silly..

So let me get this stiraght....

New games that are coming out will be supported by directX10.1 but if you dont have a card that supports DirectX10.1 you just cant use the features (or what ever extra it actually is) but still be able to play the game right?

If thats the case, why are some people worrying. By the time DirectX 10.1 is in full flow most of us will have the next gen cards anyway... :)

The only people that seem to be worrying around here, are the ones that haven't got a fast GPU card to play there lastest games with..because there waiting around for a few years for new GPU's to come out..And then when they come out, they wait for the next and so on and on and on

Whats wrong for waiting for a G98? My current card runs every game i want right now. Why do i need to upgrade? Why cant i just be sensible and wait for the new cards to come out.

The idea of "buy now regardless of whats round the corner" is totaly stupid to me. I like to have the best and i dont like wasting money. When the G98 comes out im not going to wait for the next one because it will be some time before the next one comes out. I was also orginaly going to wait for the G98 to come out so i could get a cheaper G80 after price cuts. But then i desided ill get the G98 instead.

Nothing, if you can run games the way you are happy with then cool. :)

If you have a half decent card now its makes sence not to buy a 8000 and get the 9000 soon (hopefully Nov), but if someone does not have a half decent card they may well be temped to buy a 8000 due to BioShock in matter of week(s). :(

If your happy with what you got now and it running every game fine,,,Then your not waiting are you ???.........

With all this hardwired software to hardware interaction going on in the graphics world, one wonders if it would not be an ultimately more sensible path to generate a far more generic graphcs architecture and build in any customized features such as SM 3.0 via non hardwired means...

Sure it would take some fettling to make something as fast yet upgradeable but it would negate the current market trend of outdating hardware within 12 months based purely on features alone.

Or am i missing the point and thats exactly why the market is as it is? Must be nice to have products that have built in obscelecance within a 12 month period :)

Exactly, why care, so what if Dx10.1 is coming, how many Dx10 games have we got, NONE (today), and we've had Dx10 cards for 9 months, 9 months is a helluva long time in graphics cards, by the time Dx10.1 cards get released we may have about 3-4 Dx10 games, jesus absolutely flooding out!!!.

Couldn't care less, I won't have this card by the time DX10.1 is used properly, heck even DX10 is barely used.

thats my point also

no point buying the new dx10.1 card shuddery because there'll be no games out for it till about 6-7months after or longer then maybe dx11 would be started to be made
